Great blender, pity it breaks all the time.... August 21, 2008 D. K. McKenna 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I really liked the style and size of this blender. 1000watt motor sounded just the ticket, and an endorsement from Marco Pierre oo la la, sacre bleu.....However my first one lasted just under three months, the motor just burnt out. The second one less than a week with the exact same problem. I was using the blender once a day everyday for smoothies. Amazon's customer service was first rate and they replaced the first one and then refunded me when the second one went kaput. So if you want to try it be sure in the knowledge you can get a refund. I did a little research into blenders after mine broke twice and it turns out that anything over 600watts is just overkill, so I'd highly recommend you go for a machine of 600watts and under, like the Breville BL18 or something similar.
Has been working well July 15, 2008 Sirius76 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this at the beginning of the year and it has worked extremely well. The glass jug is superior to others and the motor seems very strong. Don't consider a less powerful blender if you plan to crush a lot of ice in one go. I have even dropped the base once or twice with no damage (even though it is quite heavy). It is also very simple to clean since the blade comes out easily from underneath. I usually just put a drop of washing up liquid in it with hot water after use and switch it on for a few seconds and rinse it out. The only negative I can think of is that the power dial seems a bit light and lacks feedback as it's being turned. You should also be careful to hold the lid if you go straight to max power (using the ice breaking setting or power button) instead of turning the dial smoothly to the maximum, since everything will explode upwards due to the power.
strong but fragile April 29, 2008 cool_tom 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
bought this 3 weeks ago...didnt like the speed adjustment system as it is poorley designed... powerful motor...blends well...but not built to last... has stopped working now...blade has cracked!...although i have not used any hard items... overall...i would not recommend it
Poorly made April 20, 2008 Michael Cowlin (Nottingham, UK) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I originally purchased the jug in Dec 08. First time i used it the Glass jug cracked. I was given a replacement and all was ok for 3 months. Then when making a bannana, apple and rasberry smoothy, the blade broke. This is a poorly made peice of equipement which will last only a few months alteast
Broken Jug March 16, 2008 easycook 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I purchased my blender in January. The third time I used it I returned it to the unit and on turning it to the lock position the glass jug broke away at the base unit. After phoning the number on the guarantee the woman tried telling me it was my vault as I must have knocked it which I did not and they only agreed to replace the jug "out of good will". I believe there must have been an inhererant weakness.
