I bought this item and was thrilled but after 1 year 10 days just outside the warranty it self destructed!! Make sure you return within the warranty because this item has a short shelf life. After buying new cartridges costing 15 pounds the machine literally pumped out the entire tank of water through the iron!Its something to behold.Avoid i've read the reviews the one person who loves it hasn't owned it long enough.Do beware because the retailer & the manufacturer do not want to know after a year.Buy at you own peril!

I have had this iron for a year now and have never had any problems with it, in fact I really like it!! I was surprised to see all the bad reviews as I was considering buying another one as a gift. Its easy to fill, heats up quickly and I have never had to wait '10 minutes for steam to come out'. I would have marked 5 stars but im sure there are better irons out if you wish to pay double the price. I have found it excellent value for money!

I bought this iron today, quite frankly it is the biggest load of rubbish, mascerading as an expensive product.
Our old philips iron broke and I was stupid enough to purchase this particular brand. My advice to anyone is do not buy it, save your money and your anger and return it ASAP.
Russell Hobbs I will never ener buy one of your products again. You bunch of cowboys who ride donkeys instead of horses.

I bought the russell hobbs steam generator iron 7 months ago. After 5 months I noticed that when I refilled the iron the iron wouldn't work for 5/6 hours now after 7 months it has completely packed up after reading the other reviews I realise this is a common problem.

We bought this iron from Tescos 2 months ago, to cut a long story short, its been returned for a refund. Echoing the other reviews, the priming is a joke and it just doesnt work, we spent hours trying to get the steam out over the 2 months, even phoned Russel hobbs, who were surprised.
Please dont buy it, save hours of your life.
Now going to try and find another option.
