Product Description Kneeling chairs are gaining in popularity as more and more people recognise that their back is an important thing to look after. Medical professionals agree that breaking up working patterns and ensuring that an active seating arrangement is used will help reduce exisitng, and help prevent onset, of a variety of back conditions, this is helped by using a kneeling chair. Where dispaly screen assesments are carried out there is often found to be a need to modify the seating arrangements in use to better ensure a correct posture. The kneeling chair provides posture improvements by setting the spine into a natural S shape through sitting on the angled seat pad, with just a little weight being taken on the shins (not the knees - contrary to the idea given by the product name). The seat is height adjustable to cater for users between 5 feet and 6 feet tall.

If you are sitting comfortably..... August 7, 2008 doublegone (scotland) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
...I'll begin. I work at a computer a lot and recently developed a few problems because of poor seating posture. I had been considering trying a kneeling chair for a while but have always been put off by the price. At fifty quid this one seemed just about cheap enough for me to give it a go. The assembly was reasonably easy and they do seem to offer a useful on-line and over the phone back-up if you have any problems deciphering the paper instructions in the box. Nice touch. But I managed after a bit of head scratching to put the thing together. As a big guy I felt initially worried sitting on it that I was going to collapse it onto my own feet. It is however quite sturdy and I have got over that uneasy feeling now. You have to fiddle a bit with the height/angle adjustment to find the setting that is good for you. Early efforts left me with uncomfortable shins. Once you get it right and find your sweet spot, you're set though. Sitting this way does take a bit of getting used to. I slouch normally so have to concentrate to sit correctly. Gave me a slight backache for a while sitting straight. The chair forces you to have good posture. If you slouch in it, you get very uncomfortable. All in all I am quite pleased with the purchase. Tilting the pelvis formard and taking some weight on your legs does seem a more natural position than a traditional chair forces you into. But you do kinda have to relearn sitting until you get used to it. On the downside, the wood is not particularly attractive, and the finish was a little chipped on mine when it arrived. No biggie though. Its a well-designed item if not made from luxury materials.
