Yummy yummy in my tummy!! July 9, 2008 Mrs. N. J. Harris (Britain) My ice cream maker arrived in great condition and was ready to go after I froze the part that now lives in my freezer. The first result was perfect ice cream with no preservatives, gum or E numbers. My children were fascinated and loved the results. I highly recommended this machine and Amazons quick professional service.
Perfect machine for your kitchen June 16, 2008 Mr. W. Turek (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Hi, I bought this ice maker driven by an impulse. Since then I am more happier person who has always fresh and tasty ice cream ready in the freezer. The machine itself is great! It comes with a special freezing disk not a bowl as most this kind of machines available on the market. Disk is a perfect (much better then the bowl) solution as it takes not very much space in the freezer. It will also fit in most (maybe all) freezing compartments. Machine is easy to operate and to clean. It has very few parts and they are easy to assembly and vice versa. I have never made an ice cream before in my life. When I tried with this machine it just worked. It was an easy experience and ice cream that came out of this machine was great. Unfortunately the ice cream didn't last long so disk is in the freezer again getting ready for tomorrow's ice cream making session. Don't think about buying it just do it!
Packaging and returns May 15, 2008 Mr. John Fox (Essex UK) 2 out of 11 found this review helpful
Unfortunately I, or rather my daughter as it was a birthday present, never got a chance to see how good the Philips Ice Creanm Maker is. I ordered one for her birthday. It arrived broken because the packaging was inadequte. I sent it back and asked for a replacement which also arrived broken. I have now given up and have bought one from a High Street store. Amazon claim their packaging is adequate. It clearly is not. I will however give Amazon full marks for the efficiency of their returns service.
Really Excellent March 18, 2008 Esme Weatherwax 16 out of 17 found this review helpful
I have just upgraded to this icecream maker after using the Kenwood .8 litre machine. This one wins hands down. Actually, mine is not blue, it is white and green but they seem to be the same model - just different colours, I think. Mine makes a litre of ic cream so if this blue one makes more, I apologise. The disc for this which is frozen in the freezer takes up little space, it makes more icecream and it is much easier to make and get out of the machine. I was pleasantly surprised after struggling with wasted, frozen iceream adhering to the Kenwood's sides, to find that the Philips does not end up with frozen, wasted icecream in this way; the icecream is easy to scoop out of the container to put in another to freeze in the freezer and the icecream, using Ben and Jerry's book so far, is delicious and fantastic (well, admittedly the Kenwood icecream also tasted delicious) The motor runs very quietly. The machine is very easy to clean. This ice cream maker is stylish and functional - can seriously recommend it.
