Technical Information: The Ranger FM/AM Radio is fitted with a DC input facility to accommodate the AC/DC adapter charger, and an earphone socket for personal listening. The Freeplay Ranger will play for approximately 35 minutes at normal volume per 30 second wind, and can be rewound at any time for as much playtime as you want. An LED charge level indicator tells you the best speed to wind.
The transmission is constructed to high manufacturing tolerances for glass re-enforced Nylon and Acetyl, dissimilar plastics that dramatically increase the life of the transmission. Under wind-up conditions the batteries receive a conditioning charge that negates the memory effect common to some wind up systems.
Instructions for Use: The Free Play Ranger can be charged in three ways, Hand winding, charged via a traditional plug, or via solar power. In direct sunlight the Ranger will charge itself and play continuously without winding. The internal Ni-MH battery can be fully charged from the solar panel or the AC/DC adapter. The Freeplay Ranger will give 25 hours of playtime, depending on volume, when fully charged.
For best use, the battery requires a conditional charge before first use, or after prolonged inactivity. This can be done by administering several 30 second wind cycles, or with charging from the adapter.
Caution: The Freeplay Ranger isn't waterproof, so keep away from water sources.
