Not as Tough as It Looks July 3, 2008 Ian McDonald (Kent, UK) I've used the torch for about a year and it's proved excellent - a bright light, not heavy, easy on batteries, and handily pocket-sized. However, despite its tough appearance and feel, today it rolled off my desk, dropped onto a soft carpet, and now refuses to work. I would have expected it to have survived such a fall easily but it seems that it's not so much a toughguy as a bit of a wimp!
True Utility - TU80 - 21 LED Compact Truelite - Dark Silver June 24, 2008 D. Parish (Wales) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
i bought this torch for my work, and boy did it NOT live up to the job!!! if your thinking of getting one, please note you will not get the one you see in the picture, what i got was a very cheap looking copy, i`ve had it less than 12 hours and 6, yes 6 of the LED`s have stopped working, so beware, keep your money, and get a geber or maglite insted!!!!!!
Excellent patrol torch June 19, 2008 Rob (UK) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this torch to replace the dismal mini maglite provided as part of standard police kit. It is extremely bright, and fits very well in the hand to provide a steady beam in an overhand grip. The shape of the casing, with the enlarged head, means that it can be slotted snugly into a loop on the chest of standard body armour. The metal casing itself is durable and solid, and it has a satisfyingly heavy feel which suggests it can take a hammering. The only disadvantage is the range provided by the LEDs, but for most policing purposes it does the job well at a very low price.
Excellent! January 24, 2008 PJ Online 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I've had mine for a year now. Used it in a cave in Cuba, in the garage, on various holidays or just walking home in the dark. It's solid, very bright and fits in your hand easily. An excellent buy at under 20 as a 3watt torch would cost around 45. As to reliability mine is, and has been fine, but like all torches, if the battery contacts don't spring out enough it may become unreliable, so if yours doesn't work, try bending the spring in the cap out a little.

I bought this torch when price was slightly higher. It worked excellently for about 12 months and thenstarted flickering. after a while it eventually stopped working completely,. It seems very well made from the outside but the internal workings are cheep and cheerfull. not worth the money
