Easy does it October 3, 2008 G. Mackey I bought this drive as an add-on for my Archos 404 multimedia player. I wanted to increase the total memory capacity without purchasing a bigger Archos. I had previously tried extending the external memory with Compact Flash cards & other external USB drives, but these were unsuccessful & froze the Archos's own hard drive. At first, the Easy Disk failed too, but after configuring it to a 32Kb application it works perfectly. It's fast enough to stream AVI files without a glitch, & has sufficient memory for 4 or 5 movie files, plus some WMA or MP3 music files. The download speed is also the fastest of the other flash memory sticks I have used recently, which has to be another plus point. Obviously, the drive can be used in a mulitiplicity of other ways, but for me the fact that it works very well in my application has saved me a lot of money. At this price, it has to be a snip.
Not Quite So Easy For PS3 September 15, 2008 Mr. R. Foulkes 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this for use with my PS3 and it stopped working altogether within a few days. The first time I used it a message appeared on screen saying that it was an unrecognised memory device, but it did work. However one of the other two USB memory sticks I had plugged in disappeared from the XMB. This happened every time I used it, regardless of which slot I put it in and whichever of the other USB memory sticks I had plugged in. This is not a problem I have ever experienced with any other memory stick so I'm confident that this is a peculiarity of this particular product rather than a problem with the USB slots on my PS3. My advice is buyer beware.

8GB Easy Disk USB 2.0 Flash Memory Drive I've been using the much smaller (500MB), identical brother of this for the last 2 years. It has never let me down. It has a hard life being used daily to transfer data to and from a variety of computers at work and at home. It lives in my handbag next to a bunch of keys. The case is more like a light metal than plastic and, unlike some of the plastic pens has not cracked or chipped at all. the only sign of wear is the silver casing scuffing slightly. The lid fits snugly so there is no danger of it falling off. I find the non-retractable aspect an advantage - it makes the thing sturdier. It has survived being ripped out of its socket when I forgot to shut it down properly, being in place when the PC crashed or was switched off. It even survived being pushed into the horrible front USB slot of a Dell Desktop; the slot sort of sloped upward into the case, making it almost impossible to find. It has a little green light to tell you when it is active and a lock so that you can load data onto the most dubious looking PC without the danger of infection to your pen. It works fine on both Win2000, XP and Vista.
Very good value for money. April 10, 2008 Hil (UK) 16 out of 16 found this review helpful
Had one for work and was very impressed with its speed. I have to work with massive spreadsheets and this drive came to the rescue. Decided to get one for myself to store all our photos and music. The only downside: is not retractable and you might end up losing the cap. Otherwise, brilliant. Very good value for money.
Like it! January 8, 2008 T. Tran (UK) 13 out of 14 found this review helpful
I've had this product for a little while now, and have not experienced any problems with it. Usual advantage of plug 'n' play, but bettered by being 8GB makes this a worthwhile gadget to own. If only this was a 20GB so I can store all my favourite movies/vids during my travels? So come on you suppliers give us more!
