A great mouse - however:
if you are looking for something portable, keep in mind that you need to take the base station with you for the mouse to work - and that's definitely not designed as a portable item. To my mind the advertising for this product is misleading, and Logitech don't make a USB wireless receiver that you can use with this mouse.

I've had one of these for about 2 years now, and I love it. It is a little weighty yes, but not obtrusively so. The bonus scroll buttons near your thumb are excellent, I use them all the time for browsing and can't see myself getting another mouse without them.
The battery life is great, even after 2 years and alot of daily usage. I can go for a couple of weeks without charging it. You can keep going for a few hours after the red battery light comes on without any noticable performance issues.

Lovely piece of kit. Assignable buttons and plenty of them, an application switch button whic is nicely tucked away so as to be accessible but not accidentally hit just at the crucial moment of doing something important, and the side-to-side scrolling of the tiltwheel make this versatile mouse do what is needed. Very well shaped for my hand at least (I'm quite tall and find some mice a bit palm-sized) and I notice that a previous reviewer noted it was 'heavy'. Again, personal preference, but to me this just feels sturdy and comfortable. Tracking is exemplary, holds its charge for a couple of weeks at least, and the docking station is a nice tidy touch. Nicest mouse I've owned....

This is a very well designed product, and I wondered for a long time whether to get this or the corded version. In the end I decided to get this wireless model for the flexibility around the office etc as I also use with a laptop. The main features I was interested in was the optical functionality and the back and forward buttons which can be used for browsing as I was getting wrist ache with existing (roller ball) mouse. However I wasn't impressed with this. The mouse feels quite heavy due to the battery inside it(more so that other corded verions I have used) and actually developed a fault, skipping in use. I will get a corded optical mouse instead.
