5 out of 5 stars VGA AV Cable Review   May 5, 2008
Anthony Stephenson (UK, NE)
Cable made of good strong materials. This is a cheap way to experience HD quality by plugging your xbox into your LCD TV / TFT PC monitor. Some people have given a bad review explaining they haven't noticed a difference this may be due to the settings not being altered upon use of the cable.

So don't forget to turn up the resolution to 720p in the console settings or you won't see any difference.

1 out of 5 stars Absolutely Rubbish   February 28, 2008

I purchased this product hopeing it would improve the picture quality of my component cable. To be honest there was nothing wrong with the component, the picture was clear, sharp and the colours were vibrant. THIS cable however made the picture quality plumet completely. The screen had a dull shadow of grey coating it and the small details like edges of straight lines were all fuzzy, clearly visable from my seat around 2 meters away. Also it made the screen a fraction smaller and made everything seem more streched.

Take my advice, if you want something as good as HDMI, get or stick with compenent cables. In my own opinion, compenent is just as a good as HDMI. My friend has the eilte, on the same sized tv as mine and I could see absolutley NO DIFFERENCE whatsoever.
So don't waste your money on this rubbish.

5 out of 5 stars much better than Component and not far from HDMI   January 22, 2008

After seeing a 360 Elite via HDMI and a normal 360 via Component both on the same 32" LCD TV, the difference was a lot more than i thought! Component gave slightly jagged edges to most objects and some colours just looked slightly off-hue, compared to HDMI which looked smoother and produced more normal colours.

Annoyed that i'd bought a normal 360 before the Elite was released, I couldn't see the point in paying around 300 for a better picture, so for the sake of 18 (ish) VGA was worth a try..
This cable is definitely worthwhile for the improvement it gives over Component - once the right resolution has been chosen for the TV/monitor it's on (with a 32" LCD @ 16:9 widescreen, 1360x768 seemed to look right), it's very close to HDMI quality in both visual sharpness and colour realism.

5 out of 5 stars Want HD but don't have plasma, but do have a PC?   December 25, 2007

Then buy this baby! I've set the Xbox 360 up next to the monitor, the cable is easy to switch around, and it enables you to see it all in its HD glory! Plus since its next to the PC you can connect it via an Ethernet cable and go on Xbox live! Or if the PC is wireless you can setup an ICS Bridge! Brilliant!

5 out of 5 stars Who needs a expensive TV?   November 30, 2007

Brought this to use the xbox on my 22inch widescreen Iyama pc monitor.
Firstly some brands come with the jack to put the left and right audio into one channel.
Secondly buy this!
The quality of the visual over a pc monitor hands down is more impressive than running it on a normal tv through the component or scart! Yes i have tried it two elites running next to each other one to my monitor and one to a 36 inch w/screen tv and there is a noticable difference! If the monitor comes with speakers I would recommend and external sound solution as most onboard speakers arent great but the cable does not distort the audio or visual signals either way and also on this cable is the option of plugging in a optical cable for even better sound!
Buy this a half decent pc monitor and an xbox and it probably comes to the same amount as a decent HD tv!
