Great value, but not perfect August 25, 2008 S. Brackenridge (Oxford, UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This keyboard and mouse combo represents great value for money and works very well. The mouse is excellent, a good size and shape (although possibly slightly too large if you have very small hands), and both the keyboard and mouse have no detectable lag. Typing is fine on the low profile keys. The supplied wireless receiver is small and works well even when plugged into a computer below my desk. However, to accommodate the 12 silver shortcut keys (6 on each side), the layout of the keyboard is slightly unusual. The block of 6 keys above the cursor keys is arranged 2 wide by 3 deep rather than 3 wide by 2 deep. This may take a bit of getting used to if you use these keys a lot (personally I don't). Also, the zero key on the numerical key pad is not as wide as normal to allow the cursor keys to fit in. The biggest annoyance, however, is the lack of lights to indicate if Caps Lock, Scroll Lock and Number Lock are on. These would be much more useful than the multimedia keys in my opinion! But these are only minor caveats and given the price it is hard to really complain! All that remains to be seen if how the battery life holds up...
super July 29, 2008 Mr. David Jarvis (Alexandria,Scotland) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
i recently purchased this item and i've got to say i'm very impressed with it.so impressed i felt the need to write this review. the keyboard is a very sleek design and is mouse is very comfortable.for the money this is great value.worth every penny and probably more. don't waste money on a more expensive keyboard, cause lets face it if this one does break for any reason(which i've seen no evidence of thus far)at least it didn't cost you a fortune
It will make you happy July 23, 2008 El Mono Sabio (London) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
My previous wired keyboard died last week after I opened it to clean it (if it ain't broken, don't fix it) so I got myself a wireless one from Argos made by some company called Mikoni. What a mistake! It stopped working at random intervals even after installing the drivers, the whole thing felt like a cheap plastic toy and the receiver unit looked like something out of Dr Who. Within the first 10 mins of using it, I was on the Internet looking for another keyboard (being able to write at random intervals, that is). For the same price as the previous one, I got myself this Trust keyboard set there is a world of difference in terms of quality and performance. The keyboard and mouse only need two steps to get the working. Place the batteries in, plug the tiny USB receiver and that's it! No need for drivers or synchronization. I am using Windows XP and all the especial multimedia keys work fine. On top of this, the keyboard is slim and narrow which is great for small desks. The keys are of the right proportions (i.e. no small intro key) and are located were you expect them. They also have nice soft resistance when you type (if you do a lot of typing you probably know what I mean). Finally, I have used it for a whole day and I haven't had any sync issues. Something tells me there won't be any in the future either. If you want a good quality wireless keyboard that works and feels good, go for this one, it will make you happy.
EXCEPTIONAL VALUE OUTSTANDING PERFORMER July 5, 2008 S. M. Zaidi 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
after being fed up of 2 previous rubbish wirelsss sets, i thought of giving this a go.. i can only say that now i love TRUST brand.. the reciever dongle is so small u dont see any ugly ir receiver sitting, no need to press any buttons to sync keyboard and mouse.. just simple plug n play.. i have plugged in the dongle on the back side of my pc.. i can get good range there is no delay in typing or mouse responces.. the mouse has very good and comfortable feel, two buttons for browser navigtion is simply worth it as i needed to use that quite often.. also tested this set with doom3 just to check responce timing and it did very well.. battery life should be longer as it uses a technology which put mouse opticals on low power mode if not in use.. 5 star for this set dont waste any money on expensive sets when this can do job very well.. oh and lastly i also works with ps3.. goodluck
Trust DS3400 wireless keyboard and mouse - just works with PS3 and Linux too July 2, 2008 Mr. R. M. Dziemianko (uk) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Though only specifed for Windows, I found the keyboard and mouse worked faultlessly with Umbuntu Linux, and with the Sony PS3 running its own os (just plug in the reciever - no tweaks required)! The Keyboard is compact with a good feel for typing. The mouse works well on most surfaces and has a good shape. The Range is good if you put the reciever in a USB slot at the front of your machine (haven't tried it at 8m though). I haven't tired the "Windows keys" or the extra mouse buttons either. It runs off NiMH rechargable batteries fine too I bought this as it was the cheapest - its also very good - super value!
