Buyer Beware - I positevely hate this keyboard and regret buying it big time August 15, 2008 A. M. Morgan (Swansea, UK) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
The keyboard is way to small, for me the normal spread of hands is greater then the length of this key board, thus your hands feel crammed over the centre...taking a normal position for my hands I find them resting over the half over the media keys to the left and over the return/page up keys to the right...I swear I will never purchase another one of these...I have to purchase a replacement soon for the sake of my sanity
Very user friendly,... but Bluetooth is a problem April 2, 2008 Mr. A. Randhawa (london) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
As a Pc novice i was expecting a very advanced and technical keyboard that would take a while to get the hang of. However it is perfectly suitable for amateurs like myself and the fact that the tab button actually has 'TAB' spelled on it is great also. The mouse works fine as far i know and the keyboard sits nicely in my lap while i type. However, the bluetooth reciever that comes with it is messing with my Pc as when its plugged in my Pc freezes on startup and sometimes again when shutting down. however thats a small issue that im sure is down to Vista or something and i proberly just need to adjust something. Also id like to mention the best feature of this keyboard which is the integrated mouse, with the sensor pad on the right hand side (Around the OK button) and the left and right mouse buttons on the left hand side. this makes navigating with the keyboard very easy and you can hold it like a SNES controller (Old School!) which makes it quite comfortable too. Overall a very good product that gives you the choice of not even using the standalone mouse. great for relaxing with the keyboard where a mouse mat wouldnt work (Bed, Sofa etc). However the blutooth issue stops me giving it 5 stars.
Great to use - if you like shiny worn keyboards March 16, 2008 Mr. Adam M. Jackson 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Love the feel and the looks of this keyboard and mouse when new and they are great to use. Just one word of warning though, my keyboard is now 6 months old and looks VERY shabby. Poor use of plasic on the keys mean they had gone shiny and worn like a old laptop keyboard very quicky and they get scratched really easy. I have tried to take really good care of it but it's not worked! Real flaw given the price and a real shame given how nice it looked when brand new. Unfortuantly I think in another 6 months it will be only fit for the bin - and I will get a logitech device. Real real shame.
Good Mouse and Keyboard set but... February 25, 2008 Kestrel (Brighton) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was looking to replace my previous Micrsoft Keyboard and Mouse after a solid 5 years of use and decided to opt for this keyboard and mouse set after seeing some of the reviews for the 4000, 5000 and 6000 versions and deciding to steer clear of their associated user problems. Using this set with a Windows Vista PC I found that after the suggested initial charge of the battery it was up and away with very little fuss. For basic functions both work without installing the supplied software which only needs to be installed if you want to take advantage of the numerous programmable keys. The keyboard has a small "touchpad" which works much like the ones we're accustomed to on laptops and I find myself picking up the keyboard and tapping away and using the touchpad instead of doing the normal two-handed affair. The build quality for both keyboard and mouse is very solid and the mouse fits nicely into the palm of your hand. The keyboard is good for awkward people like me who can type quickly but not touch-type (which often rules out the ergonomic "wavy" keyboard) and is thin but still feels quite robust enough to survive an (accidental) drop. However, for those of you who are fans of the numeric keypad, beware, as you've no doubt noticed on the photos, there isn't a normal keypad by the side of the keyboard as normal. Instead you've got to use the Fn key to turn the Num Lock on (very much like a laptop) and then keep holding it to type the numbers. A slight frustration along with the lack of explanation as to why the mouse flashes red when you charge it... All in all a great keyboard and mouse. Very slight inconvinience rather than a problem and could do with an extra tenner off to get the 5 stars.
Good but a little more info would help October 4, 2007 Bob 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
An excellent keyboard and mouse. I bought this to replace an existing Microsoft wireless keyboard/mouse that I had no problems with except that I needed the greater range that bluetooth provided. I was apprehensive about the instalation as I have had problems with bluetooth in the past but the installation was simple and worked straight away. The only problems which prevent me giving it 5 stars are; I did not realise how much I used the numeric key pad and although I knew that this did not have one, so can't complain. The real problem was with the mouse I put it on charge for 2 hours as instructed the indicator lights changed from steady green to flashing green to flashing red and finally to steady red. In the absence of any information I assumed that this meant fully charged, silly boy. The mouse held its charge for about 10minutes so perhaps this sequence of lights means dud battery. I replaced the energiser battery (Chinese/American) version for a Sony (Japanese) rechargeable battery and now it charges fine. Little point in sending a desktop set back because of a faulty battery but annoying.
