Absolutely AMAZING October 3, 2008 Rui Zamith (Porto, Portugal) For all of those who complain about the bass level, believe me, you are mistaken. Nowadays, and if you use any mp3 player, you will be able to edit the equalizing settings of your product. Obviously, each brand and each type of headphones have different performances, so it is always essential to set a proper equalizer base on your musical desires (it will also depend on the kind of music that you usually listen to). That being said, these are definitely the best headphones I have ever had for a day-by-day basis. For their price the sound is awesome, super clear and with a very nice bass level. In addiction, they really cut the outside noises very well. I have been using them for about 10 hours now, so I suppose the sound will become even more enjoyable. In terms of fabrication, these are also extremely well done. Compact, comfortable, fashionable, and the black leather ear pads are clearly the perfect option. They are also foldable, and come with a cool case for that purpose. Conclusion: if you're looking for a classic-type headphones, small and with high standards in terms of sound quality, there you go.. this is the best option, in my point of view.
Best at this price September 25, 2008 C. J. Dartnall These sound really excellent for the money, and they don't leak any noise at all. Brilliant. Fold away into a tough case too.
Sennheiser PX200 - A Delayed Surprise September 23, 2008 D. J. Faber Nervously opened these at work. Persuaded to buy at less than a third of the price elsewhere. Performance on the iPod was clearly better than cheap budget sets I have used before, but not as good as I had hoped. At home plugged them into the iMac and now I understand what a bargain these are, and what a poor sound source mp3 players are. Deep bass, great range, truly marvellous for the money. I had considered other makes at a similar price, but I'm glad I didn't get them.
Sturdy construction and well balanced sound September 13, 2008 A. Alexander (London, UK) The headphones are well built and quite comfortable. The storage box is a little bit fiddly as you have to squash the earpads down in order to slide them in, but better than broken headphones! The sound is well balanced, but as other reviewers have stated is quite flat. That is to say not biased towards bass or treble. As these are closed headphones they do help to block out external noise. I walk down a busy road on my way to work, and they help me to hear the music over the noise of the traffic where my previous ear buds struggled. I can have the volume a lot lower and still hear the song. It is true that when the wind blows you can hear the whistling over the ear cups, but it's not overly off-putting. As they are not huge, you can wear them reasonably discreetly. I was going to purchase the Sony MDR-V300 headphones, but the 3m cord put me off. The Sennheiser cord is 1.2 meters which is much more manageable. The only negative (which would probably be the same for all headphones) is that they do squash your ears down. This can get a bit uncomfortable after wearing for over an hour, say.
Frankly, disappointed September 1, 2008 A. D. Jackson (Belvedere, Kent, UK) I recently purchased a Creative Zen 16gb mp3 player, (with which I`m extremely happy, incidently) but the headphones that came with it, although providing good sound quality, sat rather uncomfortably in my ears and had a tendency to keep falling out. So I scoured Amazon and settled upon the Sennheiser PX 200s due to the high number of 5 star reviews. Here are the pros and cons:- Pros - durable construction - nice and light - fold away neatly - extremely comfortable - don`t leak too much sound - cancels out external sound Cons - poor bass response, most of the action seems to be going on in the mid-range - overall sound rather thin and weak - low volume output - with my Creative earbud phones the music sounds fine at level 16 (max 25) but I have to crank up the Sennheisers to 21 for a comparable level) In conclusion, I shall reluctantly keep these headphones due to their comfort and sound cancelling qualities depite my reservations about the overall sound quality. 23 for a set of headphones may not be a huge outlay for some but it`s the most I`ve ever shelled out and I expexcted more for my money. Frankly, I`m completely baffled by all these 5 star reviews. These headphones are simply NOT THAT GOOD.
