Great sound but can be annoying July 19, 2008 A. Barron (Brighton, UK) I've had these for about 3 years, when one pair seemed to melt, sony sent me a new pair free, and this has been fine for a long time. The sound is outstanding, and unlik other brands of in-ear headphones, seem to be good quality for their smaller price. SMall prices aren't what i usually associate with sony, but their products very rarely break on me. However, the cord for the headphones when in your ears reaches down to about your chest. They solve this by giving u an extension cord. WHY NOT JUST MAKE THE ORIGINAL THING LONG ENOUGH??. The main problem with this is the part where the 2 pieces join, weighs down and pulls on the ear-pieces, unless u put it over the top of one part of clothing. you can't really run with them in either, and u can't clip them down. i've put up with them until now, but u don't see hte cord in it's pictures. im going to go for the mdr-ex32 as they don't have that problem. it's stupid, and i dont see who could reach their trouser pockets with it.
Awful July 4, 2008 Owen Richards (Rayleigh, Essex United Kingdom) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Sent these back - I read the mediocre reviews of Apple's own earphones for the iPod and thought these would be better. Trying any of the three adaptors made no difference. Had to turn the volume right up to hear anything.
Great sound at a great price, only problem is the earbuds, which harden with age, but replacements can be found. July 1, 2008 J. Taylor (West Dorset, UK) Have had mine for about 6 months now, never had any problems with them until about a couple of days ago, when one earphone (the right one) went really quiet. Was looking on here (where I bought them) to see about returns, and if others had the same experience as me, and read about the earwax getting stuck inside them and this seriously cured it. The only other problem I have had with them is the rubber parts that go into your ear getting harder with age, and difficult to put in, so I ordered a new set of these in the large size, which after trying all of them, I found to be the best for me. I use these headphones in all sorts of different weather, doing sports, and for at least 2 hours every day, quite often more than this. Sound quality is great, and these have lasted me longer than any other headphones I have used, and would recommend them to anyone looking for some earphones around this price, as they function well, although the cord is rather long or too short, but this is manageable because the sound is so good. Overall a great product, 20 well spent
Good sound but easily broken June 16, 2008 NiallM (Belfast) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'm on my third pair of these Sony earphones. The first pair lasted quite some time and were very good value for money. The second pair not so long and today, my third pair has stopped played music in one ear having only owned them since January 2008 and they have not been abused. Therefore, although these earphones provide pretty good sound, I'd have to say that the recent two products have not represented value for money.
Durability May 31, 2008 Revers (UK) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
5 stars for durability! I recommend these phones to all of you who are accident prone and a little rough with stuff. I dropped them (accidentally) whilst crossing the road at a traffic light and only realised what had happend when I got to the other side of the road. I stood on the pavement and watched trucks, buses and cars drive over my earphones - I was gutted! I was sure that they were destroyed. But after rescuing them, I hooked them back to my ipod and the were still working! Although they look scuffled, the phones are in good working condition.
