Amazing October 10, 2008 Mr. A. Randall (Suffolk, England) I owned a previous pair of similar earphones- gave them to my sister to use since I wasn't using them- they came back with one earphone dead. Great, cheers sis. So I ordered these for my new Nano. Just something to replace the Sonys, which are a complete and utter pain with their ridiculous cord sizing! Wow. Amazing. The bass is actually intense, better than the Sonys, a very full, dynamic sound (with the equalizer off!) Even the earbuds are of a better quality than the par I owned previously. My only criticisms would be there isn't a whole lot of mid-range and they are a bit over packaged (but hey what isn't these days). For this price you cannot go wrong for amazing, private listening with your iPod.
Bit Disappointed October 9, 2008 D. Clark (Glasgow, Scotland) Bought the headphones to replace a set of Sony Ericsson's that I received with my mobile. The bass is nice and deep but for some songs starts to sound a bit muddy meaning you have to change the eq or turn the volume down. The overall sound also lacks a bit of oomph as well but, saying that, delivered to your door for just over a tenner you can't really complain. Probably the best headphones you can get for the price.
Dissappointing lifespan October 4, 2008 Andy (Southampton, Hampshire United Kingdom) I bought these as many people do as an upgrade for the poor quality bundled headphones you get with your ipod. In terms of sound quality these headphones are excellent for the price as is the comfort. Amazing bass and treble range for the price and i found they let very little sound out, so good if you use them in the 'quiet' carriages on trains or in librearies etc. Unfortunately as is a running theme through all the reviews, they have a limited lifespan. Mine have lasted about 6 months but have been working on and off for the past three months. The fact is headphones by their very nature are going to get knocked about a bit under normal use (be it in bags, pockets etc.), and unfortuntntely these creative headphones don't seem to be able to handle it. I'm sure if i contacted creative or any other headphone making company directly they'll say i should be more careful with them and pack them away carefully after each use. The fact is thats not what people do, and you want something a bit sturdier that can handle the sort of thing that headphones go through under normal use. In short, if you are a normal user don't expect them to last to long, and although the price is a lure (certainly was for me!), i would recommend looking elsewhere unless you want to be shopping around for headphones again in a few months....and lets be honest, shopping for headphones is a bit boring :)
Quite poor quality October 4, 2008 Mr. A. J. Rush I purchased these to 'upgrade' from my standard ipod earphones. Unfortunately, I was incredibly dissapointed. I'm not a music expert by any stretch of the imagination, but it was clear to me that the sound quality of these earphones was very, very poor. They were incredibly bassey, but not in a good way. It sounded muffled and dull. The mid and high range were also muffled and unclear. It was so bad in fact that my ipod earphones were clearly miles better. I guess you get what you pay for. I've now returned these and ordered a pair of Shure E2C's based on the advice of a friend.
Excellent sound and value but ONE problem, can someone help if possible October 3, 2008 LTertis These were my first in-ear earphones, and I didn't know what I was missing all these years without one. Like others have already said, this has fantastic quality, especially for the price! It breathed new life into my iPod, and even started to expose the compression of my highest 320kbps MP3 tracks. Darn it, I'll have to go to lossless I think! The only thing I don't like about these headphones, is that the cord is made of rubber. This gives it a lot of friction to your clothes. So when you're moving around, it gets stuck and catches onto/between something and the bud/s often are pulled right out of my ears! I've gotten used to it and adjusted after a while I suppose but in the end it'd be nice to have a normal plastic cord which slides wherever it needs to and doesn't get caught. I know it's weird to ask a question in a review, but if anyone knows a *good* earphone just like this, but using a plastic lead, please let me know in a comment reply. Otherwise, these buds are GREAT! If rubber turns you on, I give these five stars. :)
