I was pleasantly surprised when this toy arrived. It was larger than I expected and made of heavy wipe-clean plastic so there will be no problem with stains and dirt.
There is a demo mode so that children can listen to a tune, only one tune but for the price you cannot really expect more. There are several different instruments sounds. There is a record button so that the little ones can record the sounds they are making and then play them back. They can either use their hands or walk on it.
I must confess to having quite a go on it myself (do we ever grow up?). As for durability I cannot really say. My Grandson will not be getting it until his birthday. I know it will get a lot of use but have yet to see how it will stand up to heavy usage by a four year old and a three year old.
Overall, I would certainly recommend this toy. It is a good way to introduce children to music and different instrumental sounds and, oh yes, there is a volume button in case those of you thinking of purchasing imagine you will be driven out of your minds.
