As with all the other 5 star reviews I am very pleased with my purchase.

Great price, great bag, does exactly what it says on the tin.

Buy it, use it, love it.

Done deal.

5 out of 5 stars Perfect for D40 and standard lens   March 31, 2008

I wanted a bag that would let me store and travel with my Nikon D40 with it's standard lens kit and a couple of accessories (eg. spare battery). This bag is ideal for that purpose.

I've been using the Lowepro Topload Zoom Mini for my Nikon D40 for over 3 months now. I have had the camera in and out of the bag every day and am very pleased with the bag.

It is a perfect fit for the D40 with the standard lens kit. I also have a UV filter on the lens permanently and it fits into the bag perfectly (although with the filter on it is then difficult to keep anything more than a lens cloth in the internal top pocket.) Whilst you can have one filter on the lens easily anymore than that and you're struggling to close the bag.

The internal pocket is well designed with a little cover over the zip grab to protect your camera and screen. It's gusseted but it's difficult to keep anything in there with the D40 in the bag. I manage a memory card and a small microbfibre lens cloth.

The interior is a light grey / silver. The bag does a very good job of keeping out fluff and cat hair despite being left on the floor in our house most of the time. Very pleasing! The outside is fairing well too and still looking smart despite being dumped on the floor all the time.

I particularly like the reverse zip. I carry the bag with the strap across my body (which it is long enough for me to do effectively) and because the top of the bag opens away from the body it is easy to get to the camera. I can also leave the camera in the bag to use the screen and review photos I shot previously.

I fold the strap of my camera into three (like it came out of the packet actually) and tuck it around the barrel on the lens to get it in the bag. There's not quite enough room to lay it across the screen or stuff it down the sides but popping it by the barrel is easy enough to do.

The zip on the top is one of those where you have 2 pulls to fasten both with tags to grab that are shaped ergonomically for grip. The zip here and on the pocket are well made. the shoulder strap is adjustable at both ends and clips to the bag.

The front pocket is very handy and expands as you put things in. This is particularly good when it's empty as you don't have a needlessly bulky pocket sticking out!

There is of course a limit to what you can carry in the front pocket. However I routinely carry a lens cloth, spare battery for D40, remote control/trigger, a 6ml bottle of lens cleaner and a brush/blower with a little room to spare. I can *just* squeeze in a Hoya filter in it's original box and still zip it shut comfortably but it takes some jiggling to fit it all in. Without the brush blower I could possibly fit 2 filters - certainly if they are in smaller cases than the Hoya ones come in.

On the back of the bag is a single wide belt loop. It has an opening of approx 2.5 inches and is approx 2 inch wide. On the top is a grab handle which is padded and very handy.

The bag is well padded. With the bag you're about doubling the space needed to store/stash your camera because it's so well padded - but you are never in any doubt about getting bumped or knocked.

3 out of 5 stars Watch Out Long Lens   March 31, 2008

For the stock lens range its perfect however if you intend to fit a 55-200mm or any other long range lens then don't bother. It's such a tight fit that you have to force the thing in. Furthermore no space for extra lenses just enough space for caps, 2 backup batteries and basic cleaning kit in the pouch.

If like me you intend to store the stock 18-55mm, 50mm and 55-200mm lenses then go for the Minolta MB-1 SLR System Padded Gadget Bag or Lowepro Rezo 190 Shoulder Bag. Both are on special offer and will serve your future upgrading needs, the lowepro has the added "All Weather Cover" for protection.

5 out of 5 stars Great value bag for small DSLR cameras   January 18, 2008

I bought this bag for my new Fuji S6500FD camera after reading reviews for Fuji's camera bag that weren't good. One review suggested the Lowepro bag. The Fuji S6500FD fits snuggly in the main pocket. It also includes a top pocket for spare batteries, memory cards etc. Overall it's a great bag that will keep your camera safe.

5 out of 5 stars Super fit for the D40x   January 8, 2008

This is a superb fit for the Nikon D40x. The inside is well cushioned and the frame is sturdy and offers excellent protection for day-to-day use. Wouldn't want to carry it on a belt, but the shoulder strap allows for easier carriage. Space is limited for other kit, but the front pocket can hold a spare memory card, remote and one or two other small accessories. A high quality case for the price.
