Does the job perfectly June 16, 2008 R. Urquhart (Teddington) This is a great case to give the camera a reasonable level of protection, without excessive bulk. I use it for when I'm carrying the camera around by the shoulder strap to protect it from knocks. Also very useful if your putting the camera into a standard rucksack. Some reviews i've seen say that the base is very hard to attach and requires a two pence piece to unscrew it to remove. Neither of these are true on the one I received through mazon, using it on my Rebel XTi (US version of the 400D). Just what I was looking for.
Looks good, but not cover Full Camera April 11, 2008 G. Kannan (London) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
hi, i except bit more in design, its not covered full camera, lower back is need attached by support, then only you can use this cover, its only support 18-55 lens only, think and buy
Semi-hard-to-use but quite well designed November 2, 2007 D. Sim (England) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This case's fit around the camera is slightly odd on my 400D with kit lens attached as more of the camera is exposed that I imagined would be. The other comments regarding its screw on base are also spot on, I can see why some would have problems de/attaching but I didn't. Initially it is very fiddly to squeeze the camera in, however the material seems to 'give' a bit more after some usage. This does mean a snug fit which is good and unusual in the softer cases I've used. Screen protection, quality of construction, and weight I cannot fault at all. I needed better protection that a soft case, but didn't want the weight of a hard one. This case performs adequately for that task.
Poor design April 15, 2007 J. Alvarez (Bristol) 25 out of 25 found this review helpful
I bought this case as I liked the fact that it was compact. I had cases of the same style for my old film cameras and I've always been very happy with them. I'm not very fond of bulky cases with lots of pockets and padding, I normally like to carry my camera in a shoulder bag, at hand for when I want to take a shot, so I just wanted some protection against scratching and dust. I got it some weeks ago and I've been using it in a trip to Paris. Unfortunately I soon became very disappointed with it. It's just too fiddly to use. The case consists of two parts: one which covers the lens and the front of the camera and the other which gets attached to the body through a plastic screw which fits into the tripod mount. They attach to each other through not one or two but three elements: two press studs and one velcro strap. Every time you want to take a picture, taking the front part of the case off is a big hassle. One of the poppers is really hard to unclip, so I ended up leaving it open all the time. The part of the case that attaches to the camera has also been poorly designed. It hardly covers the body at all, just the basis and the side with the usb connections. Annoyingly, on the other side it just sticks up a centimeter or so, enough to prevent you from opening the CF compartment with the case on. On the positive side, the case is solid and looks well built. The plastic screw is easy to do and undo with fingers only. It's probably a good buy if you just want some very compact case to protect the camera while you carry it inside your luggage or backpack. However, if what you want is quick access to the camera, look somewhere else.
Durable, quality and unique design April 15, 2007 Wedding Shooter! (Manchester, UK) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
This fits perfectly to my 350D with a lens (also fits 400D). The best thing is that the neck strap can remain attched. The case has enough room to fit the camera with the lens and a filter attached. The case is quick to open and get the camera out for a candid moment. Recommended 100%!
