I found that the connections for my removable PS3 2.5" SATA Hard Drive did not match this enclosure.

Looks cool, works great and at a very reasonable price. Don't forget to format your Laptop HDD to Fat32 before you install. Vista XP and Ubuntu couldn't pick it up untill I did this!

This piece of hardware works like a dream... on my new laptop. I tried plugging it in to an older desktop computer (we're talking Pentium III 650Mhz) and it just wouldn't accept it, saying there was a problem with it. I was about to either return or shove it in a drawer somewhere and give up trying. But as I said, it worked no problem on my new laptop; simple plug and play and up popped all my old files.
It's a good product, but might not function on all machines.
After a few weeks of usage, it has become apparent that in some way, the cable connection is not completely secure, because sometimes when it gets moved around, the disk drive resets as if unplugged momentarily.

This is a perfect addition for anyone who has a laptop hard drive and wants to use it for a external hard drive. I use it for my music and video collection and thats all. It has a 160gb drive in it and it turned out cheaper than a standard 60gb drive lol It is extreamly small (practly the same size as the drive) and requires no plug to the wall, this said it does require two usb ports. The transfer isnt that fast, the fastest I got was only 10mb which isnt a problem to me as I use it for music and video. It is perfect for my needs hence the five star rating and saved me a couple of hundred pounds. The only thing I dont like about it is that it wont work on my xbox 360.

First time plug and play and it works perfectly. As i had a spare laptop IDE hard drive, i decided to buy the item to make use of that old HD i have. Amazingly the HD still works and even better for such a cheap price the item got delivered at around 3 days and then worked like a charm. Since then, it has been hooked to my pc and so far so good. This is a widely used product as ive noticed that my friends from s.e.asia that bought their enclosures there are exactly the same as this
