4 out of 5 stars To Buy or Not To Buy   November 7, 2008

Only had two reviews to read before i bought it, and both contradicted each other. I have to agree with both!! Yes the bag is small, with no spare space. You can only get the Camera(mine was the FZ28), a spare battery and spare card into it. But this is exactly what i wanted from this case.
If you want to cram in loads of other gear, then this is NOT the bag for you. However if you want a well made, protective, compact, stylish and robust case to stop your FZ from being battered to death then I'd recommend it.

1 out of 5 stars Poor case   November 4, 2008

This case is just too small. The camera feels like it is so cramped it could get damaged. The case also doesnt close properly with the camera in and would definitely let in water.
I would suggest that you look elsewhere for a case. Camera is excellent, case is really just a bit small

5 out of 5 stars Does The Job For Me!   August 7, 2008

I thought that as there was only one other review for this product, which almost put me off purchasing one, I should add my own experience.... so here goes!!

I admit that I've only just received the case and not managed to do a full holiday road test on it but I'm really pleased with it. I wanted a semi hard one (no Carry-On titters please!) as I tend to be a little rough with gadgets and gizmos. This case seems to fit the bill perfectly and appears to be well constructed and up to the job.

The 2zip/velcro combination on the fastening could be a tad more straight-forward but on the other hand it does make it feel nicely secured which I really like.
My main concern when I ordered was the tight camera fit mentioned in the other review and at first it seemed as though I was going to be disappointed......then I put the camera in the other way (lense cap facing up) and it fits like a dream! Although I admit that if I also enclose the pc+av leads that came with my FZ8 it is a tight fit zipping up the case. There's also a great little pocket for a spare sd card in there-how handy!!
I can see that for some people this case won't fit the bill but if you want a decent case to throw your camera in and swing about without too much concern then pack your leads somewhere else and have a good look at this! If your thinking of packing a tripod or the kitchen sink then look elsewhere because this only does what it says on the tin!!

3 out of 5 stars Does the job...but no more   June 25, 2008

Given that this is a genuine Panasonic product designed specifically for the FZ8, I was really quite disappointed to find that while it does indeed (just) fit the camera, it's not very well thought-out.

First of all, you have to have the camera positioned just-so to get it in at all -- unless you remove the lens cap, which would be stupid. It really is an awkward fit and feels almost like it's not the right case for the camera. And although there's space for a spare battery and memory card, you won't be able to fit the camera's lens hood + adapter. I'd also have liked a space for the AV cable, which I like to carry around in case I want to show pictures to a group of people, but no go.

On top of that, the odd dual-zip + strap + velcro arrangement is fiddly and makes getting the camera in and out far more time-consuming than is really necessary.

So I'm seriously considering replacing it with a simpler, generic camera case with slightly more room for those extra bits and bobs.
