Rubbish April 11, 2008 J. A. Cuthbert (Hertfordshire) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I had played The Game of Life years ago. I bought this new electronic version at Christmas instead of the old version as a result of reading the reviews I saw here. What a mistake! It is very very boring with an electronic pod that is no fun at all. My kids and husband had never played The Game of Life and thought I was mad to buy it. We played it twice and nearly lost the will to live. It is truely awful. Take my advice, buy the standard version of the game with the cars and money etc. it is great fun. I have just had to go out and buy the standard version so now I can throw away this pile of junk.
The Game of Life February 1, 2008 Daisy Tong (Tokyo, Japan) This is a great game - it really simulates real life events into a board game. Only problems - maybe too many parts, small things are easily lost - sometimes getting a degree isn't sooo helpful... Otherwise, it is a great game for all ages, although there is hardly any decision making. You can ; get married, have children, get a degree, buy a house, buy a car, take a lottery (you can't lose anything), take a casino, stocks and business ventures and MUCH more! I advise you to get this game - the chances you won't like it are 0/1,000,000!
Super- better than monopoly! January 1, 2008 L. Freeman (Worcestershire, UK) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I had the original Game of life years ago when i was a kid and it was..... okaaaaay..... i suppose. This version is THE BOMB! Its really good. You can choose whatever path you like, there really are NEVER two games alike when you play it, it is so much more 3dimensional than your average board game. Play is actually quite easy to grasp- although you will have to keep the instructions handy on your first couple of games (instructions, which by the way are clear to understand and logically set out!). Definitely a family game. Definitely highly reccommended by me!

At first glance this is a nicely laid out game. Entertaining for kids no doubt about it! Luckily, my husband and I tried it out alone one night before we played it with the kids. By the last 3/4th of the game the object became clear---he who has the most money and life points wins. In and of itself, that would not be so bad...except...Careers that do not require degrees such as modeling and sports pay the most and careers that require degrees(which take longer to obtain and which you must continue to advance your education to get promos in) dont top out as much. Furthermore, degreed careers detrack from earning life points. You earn the most life points living it up on the adventure paths and having as many kids as you can. I felt sure that at the end of the game the fact that I had earned 4 different degrees would matter. However, when the computer totalled up the "points" to determine the winner it simply caculated how many houses we had, the type of car we had, how many kids we had, and then took that dollar figure and translated it into life points value. The End. This game is great if you dont care if your kids appreciate how hard work and devoting time to their education pays off in the long run...because in this game it truly doesnt. Boooooo Milton Bradley.
Great fun for a rainy Saturday. December 26, 2007 Palpatine92 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
In this game, players start in one of the board's four different sections. Throughout the game players get degrees and PhDs, buy cars, buy houses, get married, have children, and even play the lottery!. The electronid Lifepod is handy as it does all the maths for you. The aim of the game is to collect the most cash and life points. One of the game's best features is that the players can choose approximately how long the game will last. An excellent game for children, teenagers, and adults.
