No problems here July 20, 2008 A.G. I'm not sure why so many people on Amazon have had problems as I've not had any problems with inaccurate readings or other faults with this. I have put other thermometers in the same room to test it and it's always been accurate and in sync. Not to mention that in the summer when we have the air con on it reads the same temperature as the thermostat the air con is set to. I personaly love this thermometer, it's so easy to see straight away the temperature by both the digital reading and the colour it is glowing. I've found it invaluble for making sure my baby is in comfortable temperatures and dressed and or covered up appropriately. It is a cool looking piece that looks good in any room. It glows blue when the room is too cold (below 16'C with a digital display of a sad face) yellow when it's just right (16'-20'C with a display of a happy, smiley face), orange when it's warm (21'-23'C) and red when the room is too hot (over 24'C and a digital display of a sad face). The literature the thermometer comes with gives detailed info on the correct clothes and bedding baby should be in depending on the temperature of the room. It's compact, well made and I've never had any faults with it and I've had mine a year now. I also want to add in response to people saying it can't be accurate because it has a light on it that that is total nonsense because it's an LED light which as most people know, do not give off heat. I've had this plugged in since I got it and it has never, ever gotten hot. It is always cool to the touch so please do not think this interferes with an accurate reading! I don't think it takes much common sense to work out that whoever designed this would have taken that into consideration. In any case, I'd highly recommend this thermometer and I'm very pleased with it.
Always wrong July 7, 2008 C. A. Treanor (Manchester, UK) Like other reviewers, I have found this very unreliable, reading approximately 5C higher than it really is. Clearly calibration / quality control is lacking. Avoid.
Who designed this useless object? July 2, 2008 Matt (UK) As many other reviews indicate, the thermometer is inacurate by about 2 degrees. I have 4 thermometers on various baby accessories all reading the same by +/- 0.3. I have 2 eggs, one at home and one at the grandparents. Both eggs are wrong. Dare i say why, well light gives of heat so whats the most stupid thing you can do? stick a damn light on a thermometer! Am i worrying too much or is this a tad dangerous?
Unlucky enough to have been given two of these June 12, 2008 S. Doe (South Wales UK) thermometers! As previous comments readings on both units were inaccurate. Recording at least 2-3 degrees higher than the actual room temperature. In some instances we've watched the temperature raise and fall a whole degree in seconds once it starts to display high temperatures of above 25 degrees C. Eventually we returned one unit and have kept the other - all it's useful for is a pretty night light if you like orange that is because you have to freeze before it turns blue!
Rotten Egg June 6, 2008 Fresh (Wiltshire, UK) Really disappointing.......the egg looks like a beautiful multi coloured goose egg but ended up being nothing more than rotten inside. This egg caused arguments in our household because my girlfriend believed the temperature the egg was displaying and opened windows and removed blankets and sheets of our newborn baby. I thought no way could the egg be right. It turns out the temperate reading was always off by at least 2.5 degrees. I wish I had seen other peoples feedback before I bought one. Nightmare purchase......rotten egg
