Customer Reviews:

2 out of 5 stars Odd Book   April 29, 2008

I write odd because it is not an easy book to categorise. "Training Secrets", forget it; it's been a while since I read it but I can't remember any secrets. Some of the race tactics are good, though hardly applicable to me. Some of the photos are good. There's a lack of standardisation through the chapters; some of the formatting of the schedules is dire and makes it too hard to work out what they were doing.

It's a nice historical summary of Kenyan running but has a slightly amateurish feel to it.

3 out of 5 stars Nothing revolutionary   October 24, 2007

This book provides a great history of Kenyan distance running and for those wishing to understand that side of things a great purchase. Whilst it does give a basic overview of training schedules of verious top athletes, it's not particularly detailed.

An ejoyable book, but if you want to improve your running, there are much much better books available.
