Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars A must for the serious runner   March 25, 2002
8 out of 8 found this review helpful

At a time when most of the books available are aimed at people wishing to lose weight/complete a marathon this book is a breath of fresh air. This is for the truly serious middle distance runner. It is clearly and economically written.
The section on race tactics is invaluable, as is the emphasis on speed work. Buying this book is the first step towards running a 4 minute mile.
The only downside is the lack of example training sessions which may be off-putting to a beginner.
