An excellent book February 10, 2008 D. Pavely (West Sussex, England) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This book is beautifully presented. Full colour thoughout and detailed text explaining the postures. It teaches the authors 18 Posture form of Chen Style Tai Chi. I wouldn't recommend trying to learn the form from this book, but to someone already familiar with the form this is the perfect reference work.

Lovely man but somehow strangely misguided. This book offers health but aks the reader to adopt some pretty uncomfortable poses. Really hurt my knees.
Chen family Tai Chi for beginners October 19, 2006 Terry R (NW England) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
If you want to learn about Tai Chi.... look no further! This book is an excellent introduction to the original style of Tai Chi as developed by the Chen family since 1650. It covers the 18 posture short form based on the traditonal long form (Lao Jia Yi Lu). The author is a VERY highly regarded grandmaster and one of the four leaders of Chen family Tai Chi from Chen village in China.... in other words, this is the real deal!! The content of the book is excellent, attractively laid out with clear text and a large number of colour photographs. Although by itself it is a truly excellent introduction to Tai Chi, since it is a dynamic system, ideally this book would be used in conjunction with Tai Chi classes on the 18 short form to ensure rapid correct progress.
