Great to watch, impossible to do!!!! August 11, 2008 Vanessa Vinos (Seville, Spain) Despite having 15 years Latin training behind me (albeit 20 years ago!!),and being really quite fit still, I found this DVD impossible to finish. Even though I could pick up the steps very easily as they sprang back into my memory, the routines themselves were SO complex, that I found each one impossible to finish. The routines were like complete dance routines for the show, but each one twice as long. There is no doubt you will burn fat, if you manage to get through any of them without having a heart attack. Consequently, it can be quite de-motivating not being able to finish any routine (apart from the warm-up and cool-down!) It's clear a lot of work has gone into this DVD, but I wouldn't recommend this to anyone who has anything less than a very advanced level of fitness. On the other-hand I think Lilia's DVD Latinasize, hits just the right note; a few great, basic steps, but great routines you can finish with a feeling of accomplishment.
Great fun just take your time July 18, 2008 H. Jones (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was not sure if I should buy this after reading that some people found in hard and complicated. It really is not that bad I can see why some people may have trouble when steps are done at double time up they can be hard. It is fun and gives you quite a tiring workout. I was a bit rubbish when I first had a go but after a few times I really started to get the hang of it and it will take a few tries. Instead of trying to go all the way through I concentrate on different dances. The salsa and jive are my favorites so I watch the instruction and then do each one a couple of tries and I picked up the steps quicker then going all the way through each time and getting steps confused so I do recommend this. If you are prepared hat it can take a few goes and are willing to just have fun then it is a good dvd, after doing the salsa and jive a couple of times I am just so tired, this is good cardio and will do legs and waists a lot of good!
Steps are too complicated! July 14, 2008 M. WARE (UK) This dvd would be great if they had cut out 50% of the steps. They could have made an enjoyable dance exercise video. The music is good, but they have jammed a zillions different steps into each routine and to learn them would take weeks!!! It's far too frantic and you're so busy trying to learn the steps that you don't actually get any sort of workout. A real shame. I wish there was a place where you could preview exercise videos before buying them, as there are more bad than good ones.
Strictly Come Frustrated July 14, 2008 Kate Smith 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I gave up after the first minute of the workout and I don't normally let anything beat me. Having watched the instructions for the complicated 1500 moves I would need, I braced myself for the routine. Unless you plug yourself into the mains you will never be able to keep up with the manic dance routine that follows, unless you give up on working, sleeping, the family etc...And life is far too short....
Too Hard May 21, 2008 elizabeth mcmahon (ireland) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
This DVD is just way too hard for anybody big who is starting out on a fitness regimen. I'd say if your in pretty good shape then it's probably OK but it made me feel like an elephant. And in the end like a lot of people i just stopped. In fact i now do Tai Chi and go for a brisk walk instead. If you can do it good for you, if not find something else you can enjoy. The important thing is to do something.
