Hard work - but fun & worth it! July 6, 2008 Zoe (Sussex, England) I've owned fitness DVD's before & have found them to be repetitive, boring & uninspiring... & have, not surprisingly, very quickly lost interest. This is the first 'celebrity' fitness DVD i've bought as i hate the whole celebrity culture thing & have refused to buy into it. However, i've read time & again how good Davina's workouts are & as celebrities go i don't mind her too much! Firstly i want to say if you can't stand Davina (as i know many people can't) DON'T rule out this excellent DVD - one of it's extra's is a mostly music version with little vocal input from the lady herself! This DVD is fantastic! The workouts are great & Davina & her trainers are really engaging. Davina isn't too proud to sweat or show when it's hard which is a real comfort when you feel like your own legs are about to fall off! The workouts ARE hard... i'm very unfit & have struggled but throughout the sections you are shown 'easier' options to follow i.e stepping instead of jumping. You can do this long enough to catch your breath & then just join in again with the more intense exercises that Davina continues to follow when you're ready. Although hard work the DVD is fun! That's why i've continued to push myself instead of giving up - as i would have done with a dull DVD. Davina & her trainers are really engaging & entertaining... & watching Mark doing the 'Cha Cha' steps in Warm Up had me in stitches! Watch it once but don't try to watch him whilst doing the exercises - you'll laugh too much to follow them! I've only had the DVD a very short time & have already lost weight & noticed it's toning effect. The best 12 i've spent in a long time!
Feeling Gooooood! July 3, 2008 Simone Mills Well I am not a person for the gym I have three boy's four if you include the husband and work full time. I was recommended this video by a work colleague and after spending 3 weeks looking at the box cover on Amazon took the plunge. That night I took it home and used the telly in the bedroom so nobody would see. This DVD has given me my time, when I get home DVD in and off I go. LOVE IT. Now my husband joins me for the ABS section and my son loves the Spotty Dog aerobics. It will leave you wanting more. I have lost weight, toned and have more energy. Have just ordered another so cannot wait until delivery day. Well off home now Davina calls.******
Inspiring June 20, 2008 Fubz (Netherlands) I was never a home exerciser or indeed any sort of exercise. I have a gym membership which I haven't used for nearly a year! But having received this as a present back in March, I have used this faithfully and I have really noticed a difference: a lot more toned, more energy and definitely fitter. I love the boxing, pump, legs and abs. The aerobics I find a bit boring and repetitive. I am not a Davina fan at all but she is quite funny and motivational. Having used this DVD for 2.5 months for at least 3 or 4 times a week, I was looking for something different and I have bought Natalie Cassidy's, Charlie Brooks, Davina's box set, Pilates for Dummy. I have tried some of the others but by far, this DVD is still one of my favourites and I still use this twice a week. Instructions are clear and you are shown the beginners version to get started. Thoroughly recommend this. This DVD has inspired me to exercise again and I look forward to my fitness sessions.
Good, but could have been better... May 28, 2008 M. Rowland (Wiltshire, UK) I'm a fan of Davina and enjoy her banter, and this is generally very good all-round workout DVD but just a couple of things annoy me about it! The choreography is a bit repetitive at times, and not exactly challenging. I find myself looking away from the screen and doing my own thing here and there to make it more interesting! Not that I want the routine to be too taxing for the brain (e.g. the ridiculous new Pump it Up DVD - I can dance but haven't even given that waste of money a second go), as that's just as frustrating. The other thing is Davina's decision to allow us to have the choice of 'music and instruction/banter' or just 'music' to workout to. Why Davina? The usual format aint broke so why did you feel the need to fix it? On the 'music and instruction/banter' setting the music is so quiet you can barely hear it. On the 'music' setting you don't hear any of the banter so I feel like I'm doing an exercise class from the car park and just peeking through the window! Having said all that I'd still buy her next DVD. I just hope she makes the routines a bit more interesting.
Go Davina May 20, 2008 Callisy (Cheshire UK) I have most of Davina's workout dvd's and this is great, some new things and some of the same. I love the new aerobic section, wow, I wasn't expecting it to hurt that much! Overall a great dvd which you pick and choose depending how you feel. Unfortunately for Davina, I have discovered The Firm and their dvd's take most of my time now though.
