Product Description The legendary Shure vocal mic tuned to accentuate the warmth and clarity of lead and back-up vocals. Consistently the first choice of performers around the globe. The Shure SM58 is a unidirectional (cardioid) dynamic vocal microphone designed for professional vocal use in live performance, sound reinforcement, and studio recording. A highly effective, built-in, spherical filter minimizes wind and breath inchpopinch noise. A cardioid pickup pattern isolates the main sound source while minimizing unwanted background noise. The SM58 has a tailored vocal response for a sound which is a world standard. Rugged construction, a proven shock mount system, and a steel mesh grille ensure that even with rough handling, the SM58 will perform consistently. Outdoors or indoors, singing, speech - the SM58 is the overwhelming choice of professionals.

Perfect Vocal Microphone September 12, 2008 Antony Allen (UK) Yes, as everyone is saying, this is a brilliant mic. But why? It's extremely solid, the sound quality it produces is warm and intimate, and it's great for gigging because you hardly get any feedback from a live system. And this microphone is a bargain. I've had two for several years now, and they're both still in great condition, because things just never break! Mind you, keep it in a box, preferebly in some of the original wrapping to keep the exterior finish looking sexy ;) GREAT :D
Best Mic I have ever used September 10, 2008 John (London) Just received it today and can't wait to use it, looks very similar to my current Shure PG58. It sounds a bit normal comparing to PG58, was a little disppointed at the beginning and doubt if people are cheating me on the internet, but after playing with it for a while I found that it's actually more accurate and crispy than PG58, the best vocal microphone I have used, haven't used many though.
what a mic!!! April 21, 2008 S. slinger (uk) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
i got my first sm58 10 years agao and just recently had it in a bag at a show which also had a bottle of coke in it which burst and killed my sm58 off good and proper. my sm58 was like a lil tank over these 10 years...used it live on stage,in practice and in the studio...not just for my vocals but also guitars and drums on some occations...since now it finally will not work after 10 years of a beating i would only purchase this mic again...i really do not think i could trust any thing else. so all in all if you want a mic that is really over the asking price and such a bargin that will deliver everything you want from the sound to how tough it is then buy the sm58
A Classic December 21, 2007 C. R. Downing (Chippenham, Wilts England) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
This is probably the most used professional mic in the World. Everyone I know that sings or needs a vocal mic seems to have one of these. They have very good operational qualities.
Can't go wrong. December 18, 2007 Robbie Swale (York) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
This is a great mic, undesputably the one you should buy for your home studio or for performing live. Comes with a little bag, but you'll need to buy a cable of some sort. I've used mine quite a bit recording on my computer, and the sound is crisp and professional.
