The best headphones I could find! July 26, 2008 Tafty (England) I went into several shops and tested many different headphones - these sound-wise were the best. Very good quality. Good build quality too - they look and feel well made. Several of Sennheiser's previous models had reviews mentioning the headphones kept slipping off your head - however, i did not experience that with these. The self charging stand is excellent - dead easy! No hissing or crackling. Good choice if you willing to spend a little more money - you won't be disappointed.
First rate headphones for a reasonable price May 29, 2008 MIddlestitch (London, UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've been delighted with these. They are extremely comfortable to wear. It's well worth spending a bit of time finding the most comfortable set up for your own preferences. I found that if I wear them on top of my head with the earpieces lengthened to the best length for me, they suddenly became vastly more comfortable than if when I wore them slightly tilted or with too short/long earpieces. Sound is excellent, even when several rooms away from the source. There is the occasional bit of hiss, but turning the sound down on the headphones/up on the source (or vice versa) resolved it pretty much 100% satisfactorily. Very pleased and would recommend highly.
Very Impressive-Sennheiser RS130-Has Got It Right!! May 18, 2008 T. Reynolds (Wales) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
TR from South West Wales Recieved the Phones in really quick time, thank you Amazon, What can I say about them other than praise,Where's the hiss???? where's the distortion??? good sound very comfy, best I have owned. If there is hiss or distortion they are setup wrong, or are faulty!! Can`t fault them, just as I wanted!! Good value for money!!
Alright for TV - useless for music May 12, 2008 MJS (The Kingdom) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
These are the first pair of wireless headphones I've bought, I don't think I'd buy another pair. At least not a pair of these. Initially there was a lot of noise, I switched channels on the headphones and the noise was reduced but they're still noticeably more noisy than wired headphones (which is probably to be expected). If you like to have the volume turned up - forget about it! Low to medium volume is the best you can get. Music -- unless you listen to heavily compressed pop music -- is an exercise in frustration. The unit has a 'special' automated volume system, intended to get the best signal from the base unit. Listening to some punk rock caused the volume to be flying all over the place making the music unlistenable. There's not even a way to turn the system off. For watching TV on a medium volume however, they are usable and do what they say on the tin. And thats the only thing I use them for. I'm going to buy some wired headphones to listen to music on.
Yes - seriously good April 19, 2008 Royston (Northumberland,United Kingdom) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
After scouring every review for every kind of wireless product I took the plunge and ordered these RS130s. I awaited their (prompt) arrival with trepidation, fearing they would hiss terribly when they weren't switching themselves off or overcompensate for the louds and softs leaving a steady stream of auditory mush. I briefly lost sleep worrying if my fingers would never learn to distinguish between the volume control and the channel reset button. Would they simply fall off my head or cause heat rash in my ears? I worried in vain: no hiss that I'm aware of (my cat/dog might complain but no reports yet). The transmitter does go to sleep after several minutes of silence but wakes up again quite happily. Can't say I'm aware of any over-zealous AVC action - if it is there it is subtle. The ergonomics are just fine: very comfortable and stable to wear and the controls easy to manipulate without confusion. Set-up was a doddle: pop the supplied batteries into their slots, charge up, switch on and they work. If there is any sign of interference, slide the channel switch on the base unit to another of the three options, press that button beside the volume control on the phones and you are back in business. My music: the base unit sits on a shelf where most of my audio kit resides. The usefully long lead reaches to the phone socket of either my A/V amplifier (CD, DVD, TV, Wii, etc), my iPod with everything on it, or to the guitar amplifier on the floor below. My office is in the house so I find myself happily working through the day whilst listening to a dose of Radio 3 or Classic FM (the open back design means I'm still usefully aware of the pone ringing). Come playtime I can wander round the sitting room playing a guitar without waking the neighbours or do a bit of tennis practice on the Wii. I listen to a fair range of music which includes very quiet classical to very noisy rockabilly guitar stuff. Orchestral, choral, country: it all gets in there and these phones simply reproduce it - not much added, not much taken away - I forget I've got phones on; the sounds just follow me around in a world of my own. Thanks Sennheiser, I think you got it right. PS not much to say about surround sound - not really my thing so it stays switched off.
