Bad, don't buy, even if you like the clip feature. October 7, 2008 D. Clifton (London, UK) I have terrible problems with earplugs that fall out, the only good thing about these headphones is that they in fact don't fall out. The clip design works for my troublesome ears. However you should not buy these as the sound quality is terrible! I have professional audio equipment (roland v-drums, xfi elite pro, marantz amp) and have tried them with other portable devices (creative zen, 3 mobile phones) and the sound volume is VERY low, they're extremely tinny unless you press and hold the earplugs right into your ear, but that's no good as i can't ride a bike or play drums while pressing headphones into my ears! With all the portable devices I tried (mobile phone, music players, etc) I couldn't turn the device up enough to be able to hear the music while riding a tube or just walking down a quiet street!
Twist to fit an Alien? October 3, 2008 jjc (UK) OK the sound quality is ok and the range of green fittings is impressive, and even the case acceptable, but MY GOD these people dont undertand ears. they fall out all the time and frankly stock ipod 'phones are better
Good sound, but there are comfort issues June 27, 2008 Gihan Marasingha (England) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I mainly bought these for use with my Sony Ericsson W810i Walkman Phone. The sound quality is good, and the volume control is essential for my purpose (Google "W810i hiss" to find out why). The main drawbacks for me are: (a) The discomfort. It does get better after a while, but is never really comfortable. (b) The little rubber bits have a tendency to fall out. Fortunately, the MX55VC comes with a few a spares.
Sennheiser MX55VC June 10, 2008 Greyboy (UK) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Good points. 1. I like the way they actually stay in your ears. They can be uncomfortable at first but surprisingly you soon become accustomed to them. 2. I also like the sliding volume control. 3. They have plenty of detail at upper mid to top ends In reality: For me they sound far too bright, aggressive and unfortunately, as seems common with this design of headphone, they lack base. Even after running them in and trying every combination of accessory and on-ear angle they still sound irritating. If I had been able to try them rather than reading the reviews I would have saved myself 20. My bundled originals sound far more relaxing and don't have the MX55VC's really annoying stiffish curly cable.
Excellent quality, and only one problem May 23, 2008 Simon King I bought my headphones for my ipod because my apple ones broke relatively quickly, from playing music too loud. I played my music through these and the sound quality was excellent, and I could play it loud without them buzzing. The add-ons make these very versatile and the largest ones block out most noise from the surroundings. My only annoyance was that the plastic wire covering has split on one side, so the wires continually poke out, but other than that, a very good product.
