Recommended but with some reservations October 10, 2008 Nadim Fulat I bought these headphones 4 months ago. Whilst I think the sound quality is superb, I do have a couple of gripes. For some reason, the silicone ear tips fall off very easily - I'm now now my 3rd pair - and the cable has already started to tear, so I'm expecting it to break off within the next months or so. Not sure if this is because I keep my iPod in my bag whilst travelling and the headphones can't take a little knocking about, but still annoying considering how much they cost. On the whole, I'd recommend these for the sound quality but not for their build quality.
Is It Really Bose?? Or Imitation of Bose? October 5, 2008 Paul Xavier Landig I own one of these i bought for a fraction of a cost. (well, we know how expensive this earphones is in the market). I was not impressed at all with the sound. there is nothing extra ordinary about it, its sounds cheap earphones that looks nice in the outside. What I did is that I researched in the internet about imitations. And to my suprise, in that website, side by side, the original and the fake was compared. Its really hard to destinguish the difference, that's how good China in producing imitations nowadays. They are the great imitators of stuff in the market. The serial number of the box that comes with this product here, says it all. if you check the bose website, you can not register because its fake earphones. So, for a price this cheap, there's a saying, its too good to be true. If you just want a nice looking imitation and rubbish sound..buy this fake earphones.
Excellent sounding, but some idiosyncrasies September 9, 2008 Simon S 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
These sound excellent, fit the recessed jack on the 2G iPhone, and the earbuds no longer fall off every five minutes - so much better than Bose's previous version. But they are not isolating phones, so you will still hear background noise - I like this for train announcements - and they are not true in-ear phones, so they might feel a bit odd if that's what you're used to. If you don't use exactly the right sized buds, bass performance suffers (either too little or becomes bloated and overblown). Like some Hi-Fi speakers, sound quality takes 2-3 weeks to settle down; before this the bass can sound a touch detached from everything else. The cable on mine broke after a year of constant use - but another pair have worked flawlessly, so I reckon this is a one-off. Recommended with caveats.
Just does not fit July 9, 2008 P. Hauser 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Terribly disappointed with these headsets. They just did not fit me. They did stay in the ear, but were very uncomfortable; I did not even test the sound quality. I have never had this problem with other headsets, and don't think I have strange ears. But these ones went straight back.
So that's what the music sounds like July 2, 2008 Norm (Thames Valley, UK) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Excellent ear pieces. They feel strange at first, as if they are going to fall out (although they haven't yet). They don't block out much external sound but that's good, IMO, as it allows you to hear what's going on around you if you wear them at work. They are loud enough to be capable performers on the Tube. I'd echo what has been said about turning off the audio "enhancements", these don't need much fiddling to get a nicely rounded sound. The bass response is good enough that they can hold the Black Eyed Peas or The Chemical Brothers together, but they also sound fab with acoustic stuff from Coldplay / Keane to the loudest AC/DC, Foo Fighters or RHCP's. I'd also suggest making sure that you go for the real thing and the markII version with the black & white cables & neck band. I've tried a number of options, the earphones that come with MP3 players have always disappointed, I've tried some Creative sound-insulating headphones which were cheaper but fall apart when they leave their sealed packaging, and I've bought a number of offerings from Sony and Shure. These are by far the best, they fit fine, they just work and the quality feels good, with the lanyard and the carrying case being the icing. Ok, so true audiophiles might think the natural sound they produce is a little cool, but these are not earphones to sit and listen to LP's in an acoustically insulated environment, they are for everyday use attached to an MP3 player, and for that they are ideal. I'd been looking at these for a long time, 60 could seem a lot to blow on a set of earphones. Now that I've done it, I wish I'd taken the plunge sooner. Seriously good kit.
