One concern July 23, 2008 G. S. M. Potter (UK) I've just bought these headphones and want to sound one warning that I think has been insufficiently highlighted in the previous reviews and that is the headphones are very susceptible to electrical interference. For example, if I place the battery holder / electronics unit ontop of my ipod nano I get a very irritating low frequency hum. I also found using these with my computer that careful placement is necessary to avoid the same noise. Finally, if a telephone rings it creates a very loud and unpleasent noise in the headphones. Otherwise, they are fine.
work well but build quality poor July 9, 2008 btbLondon (London UK) I had a set for a year and was very pleased with the sound quality and the noise reduction, good for trains, tube, buses and noisy streets. Then the wire into the jack started only connecting intermittently and the right channel would disappear. Contacted Amazon who were excellent and I had a replacement set within a couple of days. But the new set are also faulty - sometimes won't switch on and if they do are likely to distort badly after 20 minutes or so. Waiting for my third set - hope they are better.
Good, but not Perfect June 12, 2008 Mr. Graham Watson (UK) I have to admit to being disappointed when I first tried these headphones. I also have a set of Koss Porta-pro which have a far superior, richer sound. Where these headphones come into thier own is when flying or in a noisy environment. They don't cut out all the background noise, but they do reduce it to a much more acceptable level. With conventional headphones I have had to turn the volume up to try and drown out the background noise. The PXC250's offer a much more comfortable alternative. Would I buy them again? Absolutely yes! (but i'll keep to Koss aswell)
Very good, but not as good as the 300 model April 10, 2008 Graham Cobley (Hinckley, UK) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I had a set of these for over 6 months before I managed to lose them. (Jet lag sucks!) They are very good, but having replaced them with a new set of the 300 series, I found the 300s to be much better. The 250s are great for very noisey environments like the tube. The 300s are better everywhere else, including trains and planes.
Disappointing April 4, 2008 Andy M (Manchester, UK) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought these reading all the positive reviews and i'm afraid to say I was really disappointed and sent them back. There was hardly any noise cancellation that I could detect. I put them on and turned on the cancellation thinking there would be a noticeable difference and there was hardly any. I paid out more money for the Bose Quiet Comfort 3 which are dramatically better and actually cancel noise.
