WOW! It's like being in a studio with the artists! August 16, 2008 Stephen Leeming (London) I used to have a set of Skull Candy earphones which were great and I really liked them. Unfortunately they broke (got my money back as they have a cracking warranty) and I was disappointed at first, but it gave me reason to upgrade my earphones. It is the best thing that has ever happened to me! It really is difficult to quantify the difference which these 'phones make on sound reproduction. First time I stuck them in my ears, it was like sitting in a recording studio with a band! The quality is top notch. I generally like my rock, so decided to go for this model rather than the Extra Base model, but wanted to see how they handled a bit of Prodigy. These things can handle bass as well as the clarity of shredding guitar solos! I was very surprised by the bass as it usually left wanting with earphones - not able to reproduce the feeling of the bass as well as a big old stack of speakers - but these puppies handle it remarkably well - God knows what the Extra Bass ones are like! Perhaps the true sign of the quality here is that when you increase the volume - it's not the case that it just gets louder - the music feels as though it is getting bigger. i.e. the way it should be. Ultimately they aren't cheap, but if you love your music and appreciate true and clear sound reproduction then these are a must. The sound blocking works superbly as well which is essential for the daily commute. If you have got the money in your pocket go and buy these now, if not save up for it as you will not regret it!
Disappointed July 23, 2008 L. Davis If you can get the earpieces to stay in properly the sound quality is good (although I have a 70 pair of Bose earphones of comparable sound quality). However, I can't get an effective seal in one ear making them unusable (as the sound becomes too 'tinny'). Complete waste of money for me!

Lost count of the number of sets of earphones I have gone through. Lost, trod on or died due to a broken cable but never been that sad because the sound quality was usually not that good. Well, having had the Ultimates Ears for a couple of weeks now I would be VERY sad if the same fate befell them because the quality is excellent. Like most here did quite a bit of dithering because they are quite expensive but guess what? They really are worth it!
Worth the expense! June 28, 2008 Jonathan E. Harris 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was skeptical about parting with so much money for a set of earphones; however, it is safe to say that this item is worth it. They are excellent sound blockers, almost dangerously so because you do not hear a thing! My only complaint with these is that they struggle with complex music; items such as West End Musicals and complex Orchestral pieces; you have to turn them down to be able to take everything in, otherwise it sounds like a mash of noise. For any other type of music, fantastic! Worth it! Buy em!
Are they worth the cash? June 24, 2008 N. M. Beadle (Herts UK) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
120 for headphones, sounds alot, or a big step up from Sennheiser PX100. The Sennheiser are good, and at approx 20 very affordable, but the Super Fi are in a different league, as they should be with the price tag. Having re-ripped my Ipod songs to 256 , this combined with the Super Fi headphones is bringing out new detail in the songs I never heard before. I am impressed, build quality is good, and the various ear tips allow for a comfortable fit. It is worth the investment, if you want to really enjoy your music. Thanks to those before for rating these so highly. NeilB
