Not as good as its predessor without the microphone September 29, 2008 Gym Jane (London, UK) After a year of abuse the display on my old stone 2gb finally died, so I bought the new improved model with the microphone. It has all the good features of the old one - reasonable sound quality and its incredibly easy to use. It also has the bad features of the old one - inability to shuffle properly, and it really does need recharging quickly. I don't really see the purpose of the mike - perhaps its a gimmick supposed to appeal to kids, as but they'll insist on having an i-pod anyway due to peer pressure, its a wasted feature in my opinion. I use my stone when I'm out running - the new model is far too bulky, so I've (sadly) given in and bought a shuffle - which does what exactly what it says it will and doesn't need recharging as often as the stone. If you're considering buying this and want it for the gym or for running outside, reconsider and buy the original stone (or a shuffle if the feature is important to you)
Good performance but the shuffle is useless September 25, 2008 D. Rowe (Sunny Ormskirk, Lancs, UK) This player works fine, battery life is pretty good is used regularly, but the shuffle is hopeless. Basically every time you switch the player on the shuffle starts from the same place. It took a while to spot this but then it becomes so irritating. I checked it out with Creative thinking that there was maybe a software issue but there wasn't - it's just the way the unit behaves. Unbelievable.
rubbish!!! September 19, 2008 Kicker 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I had to send this back yesterday after having it for 2 weeks.I had to reset it 5 times within the first 2 days.It got 'stuck' playing a song 2 days ago whilst I was using it in the gym, I couldn't even turn it off or reset. Save yourself some money and time.
excellent value August 9, 2008 wpd (UK) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I am really pleased with this purchase. I thought the speaker would be a 'gimmick' but in fact it is excellent. It is great for my elderly mother to listen to her audio books on. The radio is also very good - obviously you do need an aerial in the form of headphones - but can then turn on the speaker if you wish. The player works straight out of the box - drag and drop - is fine - no need to install software. Only complaint are the headphones - I would be curious to know if anyone has ears that they fit!!!
Great little MP3 Player! August 7, 2008 P. Hollis (Devon) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I was unsure about buying this MP3 player as have read some buyers having issues with battery life. I have had no such problems and have found the battery long lasting and infact is still going strong after 12hrs of usage. The radio works fine, The speaker is a nice touch and the player itself is tiny and comes with a handy little clip. Overall I am very impressed with this great little MP3 player and adding Media to it is also an easy task. I got mine from Dixons ( 26.95 Delivered) as they were cheaper than Amazon at the time.
