2 out of 5 stars Battery Problem   September 5, 2008
Faisal Ihsan (Glasgow, Scotland,UK)
This is a great Mouse, I think one of the best, But all The goods gone with the battery, I have Charging problem from the first 2or 3 weeks. It dont charge fully and start giving error. And u cant change the batter. It should have AAA recharge battery, Then no problems, But now I have a big problem with this mouse because of battery.

4 out of 5 stars A good mouse, except.......   May 30, 2008
Mr. B. Thomas (Worcestershire, UK)
Overall this is a good mouse, the smart technology in the scroll wheel is very innovative & I wouldn't want to be without it now, however in terms of the ergonomics I feel that there is some support missing underneath your thumb - when you hold the mouse it feels comfortable, but feels like your hand requires some additional support. Other than this I would give the mouse 5 stars.

In terms of asthetics you would be hard pushed to find a better looking mouse, and would look great in a display cabinet let alone on your office desk.

3 out of 5 stars A flashy mouse that's not very good   May 22, 2008
Iqbal Mohammed (London, UK)
I got this mouse for free from my PC vendor (as a gesture of good will after I made a complaint) so I don't have to convince my self that my money was well spent--which means I can be a bit more honest with myself!

Its an extremely good design and the thumb switch which lets you flip through Windows Vista windows is brilliant. Also the micro-receiver and the fact that its rechargeable (with the battery lasting around 7-10 days with a full days use everyday) are its very best features. I really enjoyed watching IPlayer from my sofa and being able to move the cursor all over the place from 2 metres away!

However, the software, a generic one called SetPoint, is absolutely awful. It forces you to, for example, have to set speeds for scrolling for each individual application (imagine that!) and you can't select, as much as you try, to make it scroll a screen instead of x lines. This sounds like a small thing but its one of many obvious practical drawbacks to this rather flashy mouse.

Another thing is that the cursor speed setting is a little strange: its either too slow or too fast. If you ask the SetPoint to use the system settings (i.e. manage speed though Windows) it distorts the speed so it makes it counter-intuitive and pretty awful to use. For example, I regularly missed icons and clicked the next one etc.

Its also is a pretty big thing and some people might not particularly like their whole hand occupied by this mouse.

In the end I used this for 3 months and finally I had to give up--it was just too annoying and unnatural. I think this is principally to do with the software/drivers as when I cancelled its automatic start up and used Windows to manage the mouse it was a lot better. However, my keyboard is also a cordless Logitech (which uses the same software) so I couldn't do this without impairing my keyboard functionality.

In my mind the best mouse is still either the optical Intellimouse (the laser one is not that good either) or, what I'm still using, the Logitech Optical Mouse. Yes, go for simplicity and practicality over this flashy mouse.

4 out of 5 stars Great mouse, some quibbles with the software   April 28, 2008
P. Crooks
The good things first: this is the best mouse I've ever used, bar none. It fits into my (fairly chunky) grip so that everything's within easy reach and without straining - though of course your wrist will get tired from extended usage like any mouse. The tracking is precise enough for pretty much enough I've thrown at it, including gaming, even while remembering that a dedicated gaming mouse is advisable if you're into PC gaming on a hardcore level. Finally, the Logitech driver software goes further and works more effectively than Windows' onboard options, and the free spin mode on the scroll wheel and the one-click search button are both absolute boons.

Battery life is somewhat disappointing, the driver software also has an unfortunate tendency to forget customised settings for the scroll wheel and search button after downloading updates; and I've never yet persuaded Internet Explorer to accept my customised settings. But overall this is an exceptional piece of hardware that I would recommend to anyone.

1 out of 5 stars 4 devices and all of them defective   April 23, 2008
Ioannis Anastasiadis
I love the features of this device and bought it.
While using it, it is excellent BUT you have to find one (and you have to search for a long long time, believe me) that is fully functional (if you can).

I bought this device from the best electronic shop in Greece 7 months ago.
It had a problem with the thumb wheel. It was toooooo sensitive when un-zooming in that extend that when I used the mouse the text on the browser for example kept shrinking all the time.
I returned it, they confirmed the problem and gave me another one.

Second one was again faulty. Scroll wheel was toooooo loose at the extend that I was just moving the mouse and because the wheel was slightly moving by itself the document scrolled.
Back to the shop, they confirmed the problem and replaced the device with a new one.

Third one was faulty again! Thumb wheel the same problem PLUS Forward button un-sensitive so I had to apply more pressure to activate it.
The shop once again confirmed the problems and this time because so embarrassed the refund the money.

I was stupid enough to buy again the Revolution MX mouse because I really liked its features and I couldn't believe that the forth one will have problem as well. I proved wrong. The forth one has again problem with the scroll wheel.

I have checked on the web for others opinions and they had similar problems. So I suppose that Logitech has quality control problems at its China's factories.
I even wrote an e-mail to them two days ago with no reply yet...

Conclusion: DON'T BUY THIS DEVICE. This is my personal and justified enough (after 4 different devices) opinion.
