Logitech are the best September 22, 2008 Mr. D. W. Holbrook (Brisbane) I already own a Logitech Audiostation (the forerunner to this model). I tried this model out in the shops the other day and the new model is definitely as good - probably better sound and more features - better remote for a start. Don't waste your money on Bose or even Apple equivalents, this might be cheaper, however the sound quality is superior. Don't believe me - go and try them somewhere with your ipod and music. Check reviews on ilounge dot com and see that the Logitech speaker systems are respected and the best in the price range.
Great sound for your ipod. July 25, 2008 Jason P. Swarbrick (UK) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Like the other reviewer I like my hi-fi and I am lucky to have a nice set up at home (Arcam-Epos). I really wanted the Bose SoundDock and got very close to buying one. The B & W zepellin is impressive too but we wanted a good FM radio incorporated in the player. I read the review on Amazon and I paid 159 for it and I have to say that I am very impressed. A truly impressive sound deep bass, good clear treble, all from a player that is smaller than the Bose. Well done Logitech, I am very impressed.
Pure-Fi Elite review January 24, 2008 T. Hammond (London) 22 out of 22 found this review helpful
I've tried pretty much every single iPod speaker system known to man and none can compare to the Pure-Fi Elite. Thanks to Amazon I got it for a tad over 164. In the past I've had some serious hi-fi kit (Audiolab, Kef) so I was very fussy about the right system. And sound. It's taken me 3 months! I discounted the Go+Play for the idiotic remote and not being able to see my ipod screen. Apart from that the Go+Play is excellent. The bass is incredible. And portable! I discounted the Tannoy i30. Has great sound but is a little light on the bass. Yes, it goes loud but if you want warmth this isn't going to do it. I discounted the im7 for being bass heavy. This is still an excellent machine. I discounted the Bose purely and simply because it didn't have the power the Pure-Fi has. Great remote though. I chose the Pure-Fi put simply because the sound is incredible. For such a device it really packs a punch. Advantages: Sound from such a small enclosure. Plenty of bass (which you can adjust but sounds fine out of the crate). I have an iPod touch so you will need to use your supplied dock. The unit does come with 9 docks. Disadvantages: Remote. It's ir so you need to point it directly at the unit for a response. Consider the HK Go+Play which has wireless.. which means you can change tracks next door. Power unit. It's made for the US so you get a large power brick and 2 sets of power leads. Annoying amount of cable if you want to put it in the kitchen. Not portable :-(
