Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
The BC 1106 with its diversity of functions is the right choice for the athletically ambitious biker. The integrated storage chip prevents loss of pre-settings and total values during battery change, which is announced in due time by the low battery indicator. Two wheel size settings are possible, which can be recognized automatically with an optional "BIKE 2 transmitter". The set is equipped with a digital radio sensor. The receiver is integrated into the bike computer.

5 out of 5 stars Works as advertised   September 5, 2008

Pretty accurate speed readings, pretty rugged thus far, quite cheap. I'm slightly worried the magnet or sensor might come off, but they appear to be quite hard to shift even going downhill fast on rough terrain on a mountain bike. Easy to set up, no nonsense.

Bought this computer for 22 and what a great deal - had it set up from taking it out of the box within a couple of minutes and it works great.

If you're worried whether it's waterproof enough, don't be: mine did a full machine wash cycle the other day and you wouldn't know - think thats proof enough!

5 out of 5 stars Works as claimed   June 29, 2008

Just started cycling to work. Had been using my watch to time how long it was taking. Thought for the money this looked useful. Was initially doubtful as to whether I would get this to work, but it worked first time and immedietely. On the Sigma website there is a video showing you how to set this up. Even though it's not difficult to put on your bike it's always reasurring to see someone else do it, (if only they did this for flat pack furniture!).

There seems to be a spare rubber band which threw me at first. Also, you'll need a knife or sharp instrument to lift the rubber seal on the sender unit in order to get the rubber band in. Then replace the seal. I wasn't sure how to do this at first as was worried about damaging the seal. In the manual there's a 2nd picture showing the magnet being attatched to the spoke. It looked like some sort of plastic strip was being used. God only knows what that's about. Just ignore that and follow the first diagram. Just a shame they don't have a text explanation with the diagrams in the manual. Also, I wish they'd seperated the different languges rather than have a all 5 together. I found it easier and quicker to highlight the English text. Especially for later reference. A useful feature is that the timer stops after approx 5 secs of inativity. In this way you're not penalised for traffic holdups.

Anyway, for the money it works exactly as stated and I would recommend it. One thing to note, you have to reset the times after every trip. I'd forgotten to do so a couple of times only to find the times had been added to the prvious trip.

5 out of 5 stars Good value   February 14, 2008

Good quality kit which is nice and easy to fit and set up, once I'd found how to change the language from German! I have used it for a few weeks now and it has had no problems at all. I'd had a look at a few Cateye and Trek computers, but there's not much competition from them at the 19.99 price of this, features wise. It tells you a good deal of trip info and stores total mileage and hours automatically, plus it has a training aid to show you how your current speed matches your average speed. Good quality, nice and easy to use and read and very good value. I'm very happy with it.
