Comfortable, good seal, great lens August 14, 2007

After always having trouble with speedo goggles I decided to go for something different.
All in all I am very pleased, They are very well made, they feel very strong and seem durable.
They are made entirely of a very flexible rubber, silicon mix; which is extremley soft and therefore comfortable and creates a great seal.
The amber lens is great, it is made of a slightly flexible plastic which again helps with the fit.
The negatives with regard to the lens is that it is curved which apparently is great for "hydrodynamics" but it does distort the vision slightly. the other problem is that, if you get the inside of the glass wet the water doesn't run off properly so the water streaks inside the goggles which can affect vision. However as the seal is so good, this is rarely a problem unless you swim again after removing the goggles.
Which brings me on to leaks. The goggles are made of a unique material called softeril which is brilliant at forming a seal. As the goggles are slighlty larger than normal goggles they fit nicely around the socket. With almost zero leaks.
The main selling points from Aquasphere are the 180 degree vision, which is true, (its virtually imposible to see the sides of the frames), and the quick adjust straps, which is fairly average. I struggled to adjust the straps when they were on. In truth they are very similar to normal goggles, the supposidly innovative design just doesn't make a difference.
So in conclusion, a very good all round goggle, they are comfy and virtually leak proof, there are some little niggles but nothing that should significantly affect your decision. All in all I am very satsfied with this high quality product and would recommend them to any leisure or fitness user.
