Good value, easy to use. May 20, 2008 KT (UK) And red is cheaper than black . . . I guess this is a mid-range cost type running watch with distance and heart rate functionality and it does what the description says! It arrived reasonably well calibrated although worth a 'proper' calibration at some point. Loads of functionality crammed into the device and I love the sonic upload, it goes off like a crazed dolphin! Really good product for monitoring your performance and driving towards improvement. Only one slight annoyance is the chest strap/sports bra interaction, it seems either too tight to have 2 layers of restriction round the ribs, or the sports bra band slides off the Polar belt and you don't get the support you need from it. I'm trialling a sports bra from the US which has the sensors built into the band and you fix the polar transmitter on. Wish Polar made one themselves though . . .
Think about the battery replacement.... April 19, 2008 G. E. Downie (Warwickshire, UK) 2 out of 10 found this review helpful
Polar heart rate monitors work by recording the tiny radio signal emitted from a belt that attaches around your chest, a bit like a cupless bra in effect. I bought a Polar device last year; it is excellent but the transmitter battery died and, since the battery is sealed in and irreplaceable, I was left with little choice but to buy a new transmiter strap for 30. Polar, when contacted, were exceptionally rude and arrogant in their reply to my suggestion that the battery should be a 5 stand-alone replacement item. Don't buy you'll get stung when the batteries need replacing.
The best you can get December 30, 2007 A. Serrano (Zaragoza) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I bought the unit 12 months ago with the foot pod. I sent back my Suunto T3 to the shop as I could not get along with it well , the strap was unconfortable and other problems ( easy to scratch ) The Polar RS 200 is not only cheaper , more confortable and light , it is also compatible with the exercise machines in the gym. The nemu is very EASY to use and operate , the display will allow you to see your HR , speed , crono , distance , calories according to your needs. The chest strap is ok and does not fall apart whilst running. It works stright away but you might need to calibrate the foot pod. It also looks good.
Good but not as good as it could February 27, 2007 Biek Sully (The Netherlands) 3 out of 7 found this review helpful
Frankly after owning an S410 this one is a little disappointing. The footpod is rather big (I only have a size 5 shoe and it just fits). The graphics are very limited (especially compaired to the S410). I wanted something like the S410 but with the distance and this is not it. It is easy to use, the display is very clear and the belt is very comfortable.
