Good, but not perfect... November 4, 2008 Tim says.... Good, but not perfect..., 4 Nov 2008 The light is fine and provides enough light for unlit roads. The beam consists of a wide cone that allows you to see out to a few meters, and a narrow spot out to about 15m. It has a clear ring about 1/4 of the way down the body to provide a bit of light out to the sides so you can be seen - good idea, but not enough light to be worthwhile. You can easily dismount the light to stop it being nicked, but the on/off switch is easy to knock and I suspect that it would turn itself on in a bag. In summary this is a workable lighting for rural roads, but probably not ideal for the city. Not good for offroad.
Good light but limited practicality July 11, 2008 Pete Delaney (uk) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I have to agree with John on this one. Yes it is a good bright light but the narrow beam makes it slightly less practical than you might think. It is definitely not good enough for off road use. I am also hesitant to recommend it for use on pitch black country lanes as the narrow beam may not provide enough width to see all the potholes etc. Pete.
Great for road use. April 24, 2008 Mr. John M. Paige (UK) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This unit is great for road use but not really good enough for off-road. The beam is good for illuminating the road ahead in the area of its pencil beam and for a medium distance but its peripheral light is very limited making it less suited for any serious off-road use if used as the only light source.
Brilliant December 11, 2007 bruce 2 out of 5 found this review helpful
This light is excellent for town or country roads,I was amazed how bright it was, even on unlit roads, giving plenty of light to see the road ahead...Brilliant !!
