Poorly made - fell apart after only a week July 29, 2008 Bel P (UK) 19 out of 19 found this review helpful
This is really disappointing as it's so badly made. The pannier has already begun to tear away at the back very badly on one side and a little on the other side. I have only had this for a week and only used the pannier for fairly light things (handbag, jumper etc), no heavy shopping or anything. Very annoying as I think this is a really useful product otherwise, my last double pannier (made by Raleigh) was a similar design and is just falling apart now after probably about 8 years of use. Another negative is that the pannier bags do NOT have double zips (as it says they do in the Amazon description). They only have single zips which zip from the back to the front, I find this annoying as double zips are better and my old Raleigh pannier had double zips. (NB the photograph shown on Amazon shows double zips, but the pannier supplied is different from this). I believe this pannier is still made by Raleigh (although labelled Avenir)- what a shame this pannier is not as good as their old one was.
