This is light weight, should fit most airlines restrictions, is padded, good zips, two main compartments one for laptop (fits my IBM T60 for example) and is at least two tone rather than boring plain black.

I can't imagine why previous reviewers say a 17" laptop does not fit in this brilliant messenger bag - no problems with mine at all. I use this bag every day for work and the only problem I have is the temptation to treat it likea Tardis and keep stuffing things in. Good design, well thought out and a very sturdy build.

Some aspects of the bag are really well thought out - the little pouch for a memory stick on the outside of the mobile phone slot, for instance. However, the retaining strap in the laptop compartment came off my bag after only a few months, and the bag wasn't particularly expandable; it became very cumbersome and uncomfortable with my laptop (a Dell Dimension D620) and a large hardback book!

Sounds like some other reviewers have had problems fitting their laptop in this bag, but its a great fit for my 17" Samsung R700. Really pleased with this bag, looks good, loads of space and great quality! I am definitely happy with this purchase.
