Very Good Traditional ecurve Bow November 28, 2007 D. Robinson (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This (I believe) is the Samick SHT (Samick Hunter Takedown) Takedown means you can disassemble it for easy storage. It is 60" overall and is mainly for traditional field archery/hunting, however I get on fine using it for target archery. It's a good starter bow for anyone and also a good bow for an experienced archer. Good value too. (Make sure you don't get too high a draw weight if you're starting out) The riser is made from various dark hardwoods. It has various threaded bush points for sights, stabilisers, pressure buttons etc. A standard arrow rest can be stuck on. It's limbs are a 'laminated wood and black glass fibre' construction. (Very cool looking, for the record) Samick supply spare sets of limbs in various draw weights. (30lbs up to 60bls) I bought mine with 35lb @ 28" limbs. I've also recently bought a spare pair of limbs at a very punchey (armour piercing) 60lb draw weight. It's a very cool looking, yet well made recurve bow: robust and great for those wanting to get into traditional archery. However it also accomodates easy fitting of stabilisers, sights etc (if you wish to cheat - ha ha, only joking - just winding up the target archers) Fair price here. A good buy. May be worth checking out some other online archery suppliers too to compare prices? Also just to note, 'Archery World' are a well known and trustworthy supplyer here in the UK. Hope this helps.
