4 out of 5 stars Great Little Torches   November 16, 2008
Tim (UK)
Very tough & durable little torch. Small enough to go on your keyring but shines out a surprisingly powerful light. Always handy being a keyring torch. As an electrician I find it useful when looking at breakers / fuses in dark cupboards when I've left my bigger lights in the van.

I did find the paint came off my blue version quite quickly (within a month) as its always scraping against your keys, so next time I'll get a silver one as this is the colour under the paint.

The torch unscrews just under where the keyring attaches to the body and I nearly lost it after a couple of weeks as it had unscrewed itself. Make sure you give it a hefty twist before using it for the first time and repeat every couple of weeks otherwise you'll just find a small stub hanging there when you come to use it!

Also the lens that covers the bulb fell out of mine after about 8 months which then reduced the torch's efficiency quite a lot, though a drop of superglue carefully applied to the edge of the lens where it meets the metal body should stop this happening again.

As the bulb was then unprotected, it only lasted about another 2 months before packing up totally, so I didn't really get my 100,000 hours worth as advertised!

However, it's a very handy little thing to have on your keyring and you'll use it more often than you might think. I'm impressed enough to try another one and hopefully a drop of superglue will make it last a good few years.
