Doesn't work for all devices September 24, 2007 pry_cpy (Oxford, England) I bought this charger last year just before a holiday to Mexico as I wanted to be able to charge up my Creative Micro Photo MP3 player and Nintendo DS lite and I wasn't going to have access to a computer for charging. Both devices charged up fine in the UK with this plug, and the DS charged fine in Mexico. However, the Creative MP3 player charged up only very slowly: plugged in for about 14 hours I would only get a couple of hours play time out of it. Having done some research, it seems Creative players are notorious for not charging properly when using generic chargers such as this. I've since bought an official Creative charger, but I still use this one for charging up the DS. I haven't had the problems that the other reviewer refers to.
MP3 charger??? August 7, 2007 P. Allen (UK) I purchased this product to charge several different makes of MP3 player on a recent holiday to Spain. I tested it in the UK on a Sandisk Sansa e280 and it worked fine. However, on using it in Spain the battery did not appear to charge, although the screen icon was showing constantly. More importantly, when removed from the mains charger after 4 - 5 hours the player either refused to boot up, or occasionally started but only let you select one or two menu items before switching off. On return to the UK I tried to charge the Sansa from the computer, with the same results - the charger icon displays but the battery does not charge. A Creative Zen Stone also came a cropper at the hands of this charger. I have managed to resurrect the Zen by reformatting, but the Sansa is still dead, and at the least needs a battery replacement tho it is still almost new! Amazon bundles this charger with Sandisk Sansa eSeries MP3 players, so one would expect it to work. However, on the eXpansys site the charger is sold under the ORA brand name and appears to be exclusively for use as a mobile phone charger. The charger is either not up to the task of charging MP3 players, or is unable to cope with the mains power output from the Spanish grid. I gave the charger one star because there is a remote possibility that the failure of both Sandisk and Zen Mp3 players was pure coincidence.
