Supplied in box but for storage a carry bag is included. Made from the hardwood Rubberwood. (Also available in a Pine) Kubb Can be played one on one or in two teams. The best playing surfaces are grass or gravel. The game contains 1 King, 10 Knights, 6 Throwing Sticks and 4 Markers. The object of the game is to knock over all the opponent's knights and then the king, using the throwing sticks. The playing field is marked out using the 4 markers, 10m ( 32 foot ) long by 5 ( 16 foot ) wide is the ideal size. Place the king in the centre of the playing field, with 5 knights placed at regular intervals along each baseline. The thrower always stands somewhere on his/her own baseline. The sticks must be thrown vertically and underarm. One person from each team throws a stick as close to the king as possible, but without hitting it. The team with the stick closest to the king starts. The aim now is to knock over as many of the opposing team's knights as possible, using the 6 throwing sticks.

Kubb is an excellent game for 2 teams of up to 6 players. Teams take turn to throw 6 wooden batons at Kubbs at the other end of the 8 metre piste. Any knocked over and then thrown back by the opposing team and stood up. These must then be knocked down before the team is allowed to go for the end Kubbs. Play alternates like this until one team has knocked over all the Kubbs in the opposing team's half. Then they can knock over the King in the middle - but if they do that before they are allowed to, they lose the game instantly. Kubb is an excellent game requiring dexterity skills and a little back of strategy. A typical game lasts 15 to 20 minutes but could be lost on the very first throw. Kubb is not as popular as Boules/Petanque but is highly recommended for people of all ages.
Kubb is Swedish in origin. Every year there is a World tournament on the island of Gottland and a UK tournament near Bristol.
