Customer Reviews:

3 out of 5 stars Ok, but not really suitable for hikes/treks   November 17, 2008

Not sure the description of a 'shoe' is accurate. Yes they go on your feet! But, I wouldn't call them a shoe as such, neither would I call them a trainer. They are more like a water shoe/trainer, although they wouldn't be suitable for use as the former.
I bought these for the intention of walking; and the price sold me on that, unfortunaetly I failed to notice the description that they are 'open mesh', which means your feet are very much open to the elements and may be vulnerable (my feet do feel a bit vulnerable because of it) if walking in areas with loose twigs (if that makes sense!), if you dropped anything on your feet you're sure to feel it and yelp ouch! These aren't great for rainy conditions unless you don't mind going without socks, they would be great in the summer, but having bought these in September, they aren't exactly suitable, but that's my fault! They're very rigid due to the man made fabrics (not sure what phylon is!), and blisters 'ahoy' on the first few wears!
On the plus side they are incredibly lightweight, good grip, but I wouldn't venture on a hike/trek or a run in these, they just aren't flexible enough and as I said before your feet do feel a bit vulnerable.
