I bought these sandals as I always seem to slide out of shoes backwards, and I've found toe-ring designs stop this. However I've just had to return them because I ordered my usual size 6 (39) and they're very large - I'd say more like a size 7. They're also very wide. This means even though they'd stay on the moulded soles won't have the lumps in the right places to support my foot. The box shows they're also available in a narrow fitting, but Amazon doesn't stock these, so unfortunately I'm going elsewhere. Would be great for those with wide feet but I'd suggest erring on the smaller size if in doubt.

These shoes are without doubt, the most comfortable shoes in my wardrobe. I saw them advertised on QVC where they had rave reviews but they were sold out before I got through on the phone. I found them on amazon and I am delighted with them. They do need a little getting used to though. The insoles are shaped and the insteps felt high and weird at first. However, after a little walking around in the house, the inseps softened and fit my feet perfectly. I have tried flip flops and other brands of shoes which fit between the toes before and found them uncomfortable after walking for more than half a day. These shoes feel like you have nothing on your feet and I could walk all day in them. My 14 year old daughter begged me for a pair and now she wont take them off even though it's March and freezing! They do say that you shouldn't share Birkenstock shoes as they mould to the shape of your own feet. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it. Hope that you find this useful.
