A wonderful show, however... October 30, 2008 Ms. K. O'donnell (Lincolnshire, UK) 12 out of 14 found this review helpful
I have adored the character of Temperance Brennan since discovering the writing of Kathy Reichs some years ago. Needless to say when I heard that a show had been made from her books I was eager to see for myself how they compared. I was in no way disappointed. The writing is tight, the story lines suitably edgy and the acting superb (David Boreanaz and T.J. Thyne bringing some of the best to the show in my eyes). The more gory elements are brilliantly ballanced with a dark humour that is never glib or undermines the harshness of the cases. I have two issues with this third season dvd release: 1) It is sadly truncated with fifteen episodes as opposed to the twenty one/two we'd expected, due in no small part to the writer's strike in America. As a consequence the finale wasn't as good as perhaps it could have been but there isn't much that can be done about that. The majority of the season was very strong so the finale can be excused due to constraints outside of the creators hands. 2) What is with the price tag attached? As previously mentioned this season is much shorter than the last two and is being released on three discs rather than six... and yet we're being expected to pay the same ammount? I don't think so. It's like the SATC season four debacle all over again. Much as I want this season I'm not prepared to pay so much for it. I'd rather set my dvd egg timer and get it once it has dropped to a more acceptable price befitting a three disc set. Overall I can not praise Bones enough, I just wish we weren't getting exploited over the price. If you're willing to fork out for it then all due respect to you but my advice for what it's worth is wait it out until the price drops later next year.
Bones season 3 October 29, 2008 Mr. Pjk Patching (England) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Bones is a brilliant show with something for everyone. Although forensics techniques and terminology are predominantly used throughout, those who prefer layman terms are catered for by Seeley Booth's standard lab question "O.K so what does that mean?" As well as the crimes the show also delves into the relationships between the characters, their pasts and their personalities which makes for a very entertaining show.

the forensic's " who done it "with a twist. October 8, 2008 C. smith (west vale,uk) 17 out of 17 found this review helpful
This third series of " bones " has a rolling theme throughout the series,as well as the stand alone episodes,a gruesome serial killer !!The slow creation of a skeleton from various parts of his victims keeps the team on their toes and often at a loss, but the climax of this is off the wall and disturbing. There is light relief as well ,the " moonlighting " style will they won't they between the two leading characters much to the bemusement of the psychologist who's supposed to be giving them therapy, the saga of the colourful divorce, with the continuing good story telling thrown in as well. I've already pre-ordered my copy.
