I was quite happy about the prospect of taking my camera out in the surf to shoot some pic's, unfortunately the case showed it's true colours... Believe me, it may look suitable for Lara Croft, but its not. As I tightened up the strap the neoprene began to tear along the seam, and the magnet that holds the case lid closed was of no use in the water, really need a good slab of Velcro to keep it closed, and the main strap should be made of a material that doesn't stretch, to allow it to be properly strapped on and not flex lose... A complete load of rubbish for anyone wanting to take their camera out in surf over 2ft. much better off slinging it under your wetsuit...

I bought this having owned the waterproof Olympus Myu camera for 12 months and rarely used it in the water due to only having the flimsy wrist strap as the failsafe to my grip. I was impressed with the concept on land - 2 straps attach to the camera, one of which is long and springy and connects to the case itself (which looked a little flimsy but I can attest to being surprisingly strong as I've dropped the camera in the surf and watched it getting towed along behind me...) and the other which is a heavy duty wrist strap which can be disconnected via a plastic plug at the camera end. I was a little dubious about the narrow velcro fastening but it seems to have held tight throughout all my experiences in the water so far and makes the camera pretty easy to remove quickly when you see something worth photographing. I'm mostly using the camera for amateur surf photography with my friends and the case seems to suit this purpose very well - both when I'm swimming around in the breaking waves and also when I'm trying to be clever by catching waves and then filming. My only complaint would be that the strap which attaches to your arm can get twisted in the buckle and thus the case can work a bit loose - more of an annoyance than anything but it could be solved by some clever stitching. That's the only thing keeping it from 5 stars - I now have several albums of water based shots thanks to this case.

Looked like a cracking little case for my Olympus until it arrived and I realised it doesn't actually have a top on it, so one end of the camera will stick out and be beholden to whatever the elements throw at it. This probably suits diving, but is hardly ideal for walking clifftops, beaches or country side as the camera is liable to get bashed about a fair bit. The whole point of buying a case is surely to protect it??? Also, the velcro fastening which is supposed to hold the camera in the case is positioned to one side, meaning your camera will often work loose. My view - there are far better and cheaper generic cases out there. Only buy this if you intend to take it diving / sailing / windsufing.

this camera case seems to supply every possible combination of case for all the activities the camera is designed for. If you're spending the money on the camera, don't stint on the case. this is well worth the money. Well done Olympus!
