BRILLIANT August 5, 2008 Ms. A. F. Mackenzie 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Ed is the most perceptive witty guy out... Absolutely hilarious - He talks about things from a normal walk of life so we can all relate. Love this guy - I also recently met him and he was funny & polite - just like he is on tv. My absolute favourite :)
12, 13 years??? Its about time!!!!! March 23, 2008 Eleanor Brae (Glasgow) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This dvd has been 12, 13 years in the making, so its not before time that ed byrne has finally got round to making what essentially amounts to a 'best of' dvd. This dvd basically showcases all the best of ed's award winning routines - his alanis morrisette routine for example? The wonderful thing about ed is the fact that soooooooo many of his routines can be said off-by-heart coz theyr sooooooo memorable! I cant count the number of times that ive used the term "occasional smoker" in everyday conversation with mates, or the number of times ive done "the full-body-jerk-awake" lol!!!! The other nice thing is that ed on the dvd seems like a genuinely nice guy - which, btw, he is (As i can testify after having drank with him after his gig in Glasgow). He is lovely! Women want to jump on him and never let go, and men wanna have a drink with him! This dvd also has some pretty cool extras - an interview with dara O' briain, and a commentary/ aka heckle-fest from eds mates Andrew Maxwell, Brendon Burns, Glenn Wool, and his brother Paul Byrne. This dvd is a masterclass in well written stand up routines; and eds observations are soooooooooooooooo freakishly accurate too. I defy anyone to watch the sleep routine and not think ' yeh man, ive done that!'. Anyways, buy this dvd. Its fabby, eds a cool guy, hes hot, and the material is genuinely funny! Long may he continue with the good work, and produce another dvd soon with even more fantastic material. :) xxxx

Ed's stuff or what i've seen and heard has always been spot on from Tv spots and ads to stand up and so on. It is fair to say I was over the moon whem I learned of the DVD's release. Ed is a fantastic stand up certainly one of my favorites a very true commedian with enough of short punchs and a few longer gags to keep me smiling throughout. Well worth its cost a few times over buy it today and hope for another DVD tour soon!
One of the best stand-up performances you'll ever see March 7, 2007 *-[ROB]-* (UK) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I have a lot of time for Ed Byrne. First of all, he's charming, he's witty, he's animated on stage, and most of all, he's sincere. A comedian that can satirize potentially anything whilst genuinely wanting to look after his audience is a rare thing indeed. The material in this set is very well thought out, consistently funny and clearly delivered. It's also very up to date, which makes you realize just how much work he must put into the preparation for such a tour. The only material that gets reused from a previous set occurs at the encore, where he finally delivers the piece that got him the Perrier award in the early nineties. And even then he manages to make it current. This DVD is a classic.
Comedy Platinum February 24, 2007 J. Gregg (UK) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
One of the best observational/anecdotal comedians on the UK circuit, Ed's been performing for years but his act never gets stale. As fresh as a daisy with his roguish Irish charm, he'll have you reaching for the Tena pads in a blink of an eye. Top notch entertainment.
